It’s a lot of fun. Wife and I snagged tour tickets and are super pumped.
I don’t follow this thread much so apologies for busting in but I was introduced to Turnpike Troubadours a few months ago and they’re basically the only thing I’ve listened to since. I know they aren’t new so I’m not sure how I missed them for all this time.
Ive got tickets for their show in Raleigh Friday. So pumped
That’ll be awesome. They seem like they’d be great live.
Yeah, saw them in Dallas in 2015 and was a real bummer when they shut it down for a few years to get the lead singer (Evan Felker) through some treatment.
There’s a few turnpike stans in here @JCO
If you liked turnpike I think you’ll like these guys too. They’re out of Lubbock and this album just came out today but their old stuff is really good too
For those of you behind the wall.
We have a new project
5 year anniversary of this concert was yesterday. Time flies.

Haven’t check in on this thread in a bit so apologies this is late. Recently was looking into Steely Dan. Was shocked to learn no one in the band is named Dan. The band is literally named after some steam powered dildo from some book. Turned my world upside down.
This new Polyphia album is so good. A band that has really evolved more than any other over the last 10 years. Starting out as an instrumental djent band that has now ventured in so many directions and is pushing the bleeding edge of what is possible with guitars, but making their music more accessible and familiar-feeling at the same time.
Here’s the whole album: Spotify
Here’s the lead single that I used to melt @justine’s mind back when it came out, which @Schikolas posted a while back Music Suggestions 2 - driving fast in my car - #2448 by Schikolas
And here’s the album closer that is truly a masterpiece, featuring one of the best to ever do it:

Whole Westside album hits but BDP is my standout so far

Also Greg Gillis is apparently (sort of) back to producing mash ups?? The T Swift one is so good it sounds like how the song should have been produced from the jump

I think I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on this one. Feel like it sounds over produced and there is too much going on with the actual music. I like how simple the original is because it lets you focus hard on the lyrics.
I liked the lyrics but the original kind of bored me. I’m not usually much of a Swift fan anyways which definitely influences how I feel about the remix vs original
