Did A7X play Waking the Fallen or sounding the seventh trumpet songs? (Or both?)
The Bled… playing pass the flask

It’s a Mission of Burma morning here…
I can’t remember if Waking the Fallen was out yet, honestly. In full disclosure for my friends in the music thread, I went there to see A7x. Had no idea who The Bled were and had a very limited idea of who AOF was.
Add As I Lay Dying to that line up and it’s basically 9th grade for me
Brother, big same. I absolutely loved Pass the Flask. That and the first two AOF records were huge for me in high school. Avenged and AID made little pit stops for me, but I never got into them to the same degree.
It was weird. I was in a metal band at the time and very seldom listened to any actual metal. So I’ve always been a metal kid by association. But I just wanted to play fast, heavy shit and that’s what my boys wanted to play, so it worked out. Hahahaha.
Trying to snap out of the heavier stuff
What a pleasant tune, and a blast from the past. Thanks, Batty!
I got into Eternal Champion after seeing an album review come up on the BangerTV Youtube channel. Really solid contemporary power metal led by a great vocalist and fun guitar riffage. Both full length albums are very fun listens.
This is today
How long until we rank best Christmas/holiday songs? I know the word Dixie is synonymous with civil war era South, but Christmas in Dixie still slaps. Also, Dolly Parton’s Hard Candy Christmas is a banger too
There was a bracket done last year. I believe it was @lazyjk who ran it?
Here’s the playlist
Yep - ran a bracket last year. Much more civilized bracket than we are used too. Only one randomization at the start of the bracket, there were actually regions, etc.
Here was the final 4 (winners of each region)
I’d have to go look it up but I think O Come All Ye Faithful might have won over All I want for Christmas
Maybe this needs to go to the controversial opinions thread, but like 98% of Christmas songs are fucking awful
Big Christmas music guy here (I subscribe to PandoraOne every December just to get my ad free curated Christmas Radio).
Totally get those who hate it though. I think hearing the same 2 dozen songs every year for decades is tough.
I just hate how early it starts being on. I don’t need to hear Christmas music until at least the first week of December, and I can probably wait till the second week.
100% on board with that take. I do start the day after Thanksgiving but refuse to listen to any before that. Stores that play it starting Nov 1st can fuck right off (respectfully)
I don’t hate Christmas music. Quite the opposite actually. It brings back a flood of memories from younger more innocent times for myself and such great memories of my daughter as she was growing up and I would say that helps make the season even more HO HO HO’ey. That said, December 1st is an ok start date for Christmas music and mid December probably makes more sense. I like it in the right dosage.
