I quit my job two weeks ago in preparation for this event. (start a new one on Monday)
Question - how does the quota game work for 9 holes with handicap and such? (never played it before)

Your quota is 18 - your course handicap for 9 holes. So if youāre a 10 course hc, your 9 hole quota is 13. Then itās just based on how you perform toward that quota +/-.
There will be a rules sheet to clarify how points are handled, but basically itās 0 - double or worse, 1 - bogey, 2 - par, 4 - birdie, 6 - eagle
