Shoot, that’s too bad. Yep, just go ahead and delete your name.
send the check first, obviously
Put me back in the mix for this please, if there is room! That Yankees/White Sox Field of Dreams game that is the same weekend, is pretty much kaput now.
Can you be put back in when you were never really out???
I thought I was taken out? Ha!
I assume the baseball suite idea is all blown up but as long as meat cart is still in the cards this is my new favorite thread.
Meat cart is definitely in play. Given the current state of MLB we may be able to rent Target Field for $500 and have our own whiffle ball tourney.
Figured that I should update all the participants in the North Star Shootout who don’t frequent the Roll Call: MN thread. The torrid pace of the 32 person match play tourney continues, with nearly half of the Siiiiiiick Sixteen matches complete:
So it’s 11:35; now tell me, who killed Epstein?
Tap…tap…tap…
Thank you all for gathering here today. Let me start off by saying, I’m a big believer in fate. I have a good feeling about this event.
Let’s get it goin here bud…cripes geez keep it movin already
Less of this and more typing please
We have some exciting details to share about the 1st Annual “North Star Shootout”. For those who did not attend our previous press conference the event details are in the initial post. We’ll be gathering and taking over Keller Golf Course in lovely Maplewood, MN on Saturday, August 15th.
This event shows the strength of the local Minnesota chapter and will serve as the venue for the championship match of our 32 man MN match play tournament that is currently underway. I am excited to announce the additional details:
First, the event logo has been locked in. She is an absolute beauty and will be adorning event related items. Many thanks to @eswany33 for his work on this.
Second, sourcing of tee gifts and event related merch is underway. Expect some fun keepsakes as part of the entrance fee, including customized event bag tag, ball marker, and scorecard. Our very own @anon24718094 has graciously offered to put together a custom yardage book for the event. I can tell you from experience with the work he and @cgroom did in San Antonio that it will be absolute fire. The yardage book will be available to those who make a donation to the event charity of choice.
Next, there will be a raffle open to all event participants. We have yet to settle on the cost, but it will contain merchandise from the event and (hopefully) other various donations. The raffle will take place the weekend of the shootout and also includes two generous NLU pro shop credits donated by the Kill House boys.
Finally, this event is now being elevated to NIT qualifier status. While that was not our original vision we’re doing our part to pave the way to Jax Beach in November. @Tron has confirmed that we have 4 NIT spots which will be awarded as part of the North Star Shootout. After conversing with my fellow Executive Committee members @LonnieMollo and @GRWhitehead, they will be granted as follows:
- (1) Winner of the 32 person MN Match Play tournament
- (1) Grand Prize for entrants of the event raffle
- (2) Top finishers in the Net Stableford format at Keller
As of right now the cut off for the event is 60 participants, but I am waiting on a call back from the Head Pro on whether we will have additional room. If you have yet to sign up, please do so. If you previously signed up but do not believe you will be attending, kindly remove your name from the list to make way for others.
Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks, including the charity that will benefit from our gathering. Until then, remember the words of the esteemed 1999 U.S. Captain:
“I’m a big believe in fate. I have a good feeling about this.”
@BaxterMSP do y’all need a photog for the event? I know a guy…
Plus it would be the PERFECT warmup for the BMW two weeks after this…the first real roadtrip with my new car…the stars are all aligning

ADDITIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Effective immediately the Executive Committee is please to appoint @TCRBrad as the official event photographer. He has years of experience capturing shitty sporting moments, as he typically photographs University of Illinois sporting events, so please don’t feel self-conscious if he happens to snap you in the middle of a poor swing.
