i’ve found success in the summer with a 5:50am tee time during the week. back at home by 8:30 to start the work day.
That’s what I’m thinking for this year. Super early or twilight. Avoid popular times.
that is very bad luck for your friend lol. hope its minor
I swear, it wasn’t me. I’ve been at work all day.
Working on some high profile add-ins for the field. No promises yet, but this could be fairly electric.
I would be HIGHLY interested in joining you for some of those rounds
That used to be me before work moved my start time to 5 a.m. Really taking away from my 5:45 a.m. rounds at Chandler Park
I said high profile.
Billy Ho?
Oh, so this gui then?
The Bishop would be fairly electric if he showed up
Would be AWESOME
Temp tee boxes and greens healing with irrigation coming soon the city and mgmt on the same page… ya love to see it
Just read this great story about a redesign of a Tillinghast course in Virginia and conversion to a 12 holer with a 6 hole part 3 short course and expanded practice area. I pitched a similar idea last year for Rackham (https://refuge.nolayingup.com/t/trap-draw-detroit/30483/45). I think this would be awesome, and probably produce a bunch of money for the city since there’s more revenue streams (par 3 course plus driving range/practice areas, the latter of which is a good profit center for golf courses).
Keep the original Ross back 9, renovate the holes on the front to get to 12-14 total, and use the extra space for a pitch and putt, driving range, short game practice, and even add in a bigger retail component including club fitting. Use the profits to get Chandler and Rouge park in better shape, and maybe even reopen Palmer.

How this major championship host became a 12-hole model for golf’s future (Golf.com)
Yea except in Rackham’s current state they singlehandedly lead the entire metro area in revenue and rounds on just golf and netting $500K-$700K depending on year and water bills (maybe pays maybe not out of their budget) fully supports the 3 course portfolio with margins so slim at CP and RP … only they can do is keep getting better and then make even more $$$
1,000% agree @fairwayfrank - let them play 18. At Hiawatha in my native Minneapolis they are going from 18 to 9 plus a learning center (they should go to 6) because the land sucks and they lose money. Rackham is fine as 18 and could thrive even.
Keep it 18.
I love the layout, and play there a lot. I do wish they would do more with the clubhouse, (Obviously when we get back to some sense of normalcy) in terms of food options, and hanging out after a round.
