Well…international flights don’t come anywhere near Forest Dunes. 5.5 hour drive after a slog across is not the one.

Yeah DTW is 3 hours. 5.5 from Toronto (but have to factor in a border crossing) and 5.5 from OHare.

I looked at Detroit airports, and it just said county airport - which I have usually found to be tiny little airports for internal flights. Turns out there are a few from LHR - DTW…

DTW is a big ol’ international delta hub. Easy in and out of (although I am told the rental car situation is not the most streamlined). I am flying out of there on United to Shannon on Friday. Highly recommend if the price works for you.
