First time, long time. My group of golf buddies and I have been taking trips together for 6 years now. Look forward to it every year. We’ve kicked around the idea of getting some yearly polos made commemorating the trip but nothing has really come of it. I’ve decided to take the bull by the horns this year and make it happen. But I’m running into an issue creating the “logo” for the shirt. I used an AI logo generator and it did OK at best. Does anybody have any experience doing this type of stuff that would be willing to help a fellow sicko out?
I’ll give it a shot. Shoot me a DM with the pertinent info and your vision.
Or you could lay it all out here in the thread, and we can turn it into an open competition?
What’s the trip called and where are you guys from/where are you guys going.
The refuge has this solved for sure.
This seems fun!
Our group is called the “Cypress Benders”
I told Chat GPT to make a bending cypress… hilariously bad
And then told it to turn it into a simplified golf course logo that can fit on a hat… honestly not bad for 30 seconds.
I would just steal the cypress point logo and reverse it!
Only true golf sickos will even notice
We’re from kinda all over. Going to hot springs village.
Either one of these do anything for you? They say “normal polo logo” to me.
More direction? Are we talking like Cypress Hill, Bending doobies… twisting one up?
Bender from Futurama?
Bender like haven’t slept in 4 days?
Definitely like the 2nd one!
The name “Cypress Benders” comes from our first trip together, which was actually my little brothers bachelor trip. We went to this shitty little “resort” club called Cypress Bend in Many, LA. So the name kinda has double meaning as we were definitely on a bender that weekend. We went there for our first two trips and the name kinda just stuck after that second year.
The group and trip has evolved over the years. Ages ranging from 75 to 27 and HCs ranging from +3 to 20. Were all originally from Louisiana and have since spread out across the southeast. But the core of the group has remained the same. There are 7 of us that were on that first trip and stay connected thru a pretty lively group message.
This trip is something we all look forward to every year because it’s the only time we are all in the same place at the same time. It’s a blast getting together with your buddies for some #meaninglesscompetition.
The CPC tree is speaking to me
Beautiful, love it.
@ACheekyBulldog Added a bonus one, see what happens with a story.
Try the AI/content-gen stuff in Photoshop.
Our group roughly goes by the subpar golfers because we suck not because we go low. We love old fashioneds and transfusions. Been thinking about a logo for cuzzies, hats or something as a surprise for everyone. If anyone wants to send a logo or two I would greatly appreciate it!!
Was bored figured something like this would be cool.
Could also incorporate some Abita / Saints / Pelicans / Red Beans and Rice themes
Low res options to pick from and can give you full res if you want, but I plugged in the CPC logo into Adobe Illustrator as reference and asked it to make a bending cypress tree.
Plugged in Cypress Bend Resort’s logo as reference and got these
Some good logo options here.
I’ve had logos made up for various buddies trips. Most successful - working a with a graphic designer to draw up what you are looking for. They save the image/logo in a format that can be used for shirts or hats or in our case bourbon glasses too. I’ve been lucky to know a couple folks who were willing to do it as a side project and I sent them a gift card.
Less successful - getting the image created by a graphic signer on Etsy. One year it was great, one year it couldn’t have been worse.
The image type is important - vector or ai style images I believe are what is best. If you get the logo you like in that format you can put it on whatever.
I’ve got some expertise working through various OEMs and what’s been successful as well - if you ever want to discuss.
If you want a very good vector program Affinity Designer is great for iPad/PC/Mac and they do sales all year for a version that you can install on all 3 places with the same license. That’s what I use for my yardage books and logos.
