My cheat sheet for hands and fingies staying warm is a pair of running gloves - I have some under armours that are essentially a spandex thin layer - wear them under any mitten and your hands will be nice and toasty. Take them off between shots and you’re golden.
But truly. If it’s like 45 and not raining it’s actually quite pleasant.
Plus…nobody plays slow when it’s cold.
We also have access to the locker rooms. And Kohler has nice showers.
I’ll be bringing a bunch of extra winter stuff for folks to use too. Gloves, hats, scarves. I want to give a shout-out that knee-high ski socks are great for all sorts of winter fun. Fat biking, golfing, sledding.
Tights plus ski socks could be the move with shorts instead of pants underneath the rain pants. I’m pretty sure Neil went this route on an episode of TS Ireland.
This community continues to be the absolute best and that’s all I’m going to say about how this thread has turned me from being a little pessimistic about the potential weather to being completely all in on the experience of it.
You’ll be fineeee. Ohio gets cold. And realistically (knock on wood) if it’s actually miserable they’ll just close and refund me.

I think the better discussion is what is the bar for transitioning from shorts/hoodie to full on pants/jacket.
FWIW, a good pair of ski pants works well. You can wear shorts underneath and be perfect

I have the 32° vest from Costco and wore it during my round yesterday. It’s perfect for staying warm on a budget.

Knew it was a distinct possibility…to spin this forward there are always beautiful November days that are ideal golf weather so maybe we’ll get lucky as I’ve played November golf in shorts the past two years. As I always used to tell my high school team (talk about shitty weather) if there’s a 60% chance of rain there’s also a 40% chance it doesn’t rain.
Early warning here, Whistling Straits temp will be 10 degrees colder than whatever you pull for Sheboygan or Kohler on the forecast. The lake effect is very real

I’d say you’re getting the proper experience. The forecast for next week has some days in the 60s so it’s not a foregone conclusion we’re all gonna be freezing cold

The schoolboy error I’ve seen people make in cold weather golf is they don’t wear warm enough socks and everything goes tits up from there
Get good ski/snowboard socks and make sure they fit ok with your shoes and off you go
