Heavyweights: Thicc Boys of the Refuge Unite!

Join the Peloton thread!

I plan on it. Current delivery is not for like 1.5 months…gotta work on getting it to the house sooner.

I hate when people jump to the bottom of a thread and immediately ask questions that can be found above, so I’m slowly reading through the thread to figure out how everything is working and what to expect. @cltgamecock

Spoiler in the Peloton thread, many have gotten speedier deliveries by pestering and continuing to call to get cancellation spots.

put on my work clothes for the first time in 2 months of lockdown drinking!!
Whewwww, they still fit LOL

You’ll find that it’s a supportive thread so if you have those questions, by all means, ask em! We will help you out!

Just took a look at the original Google Sheet and I started our challenge last August at 259.4. I’m happy to report that I weighed in at 234.7 earlier today. While looking at this on a monthly basis, it is not incredibly impressive but I am proud of the fact that I have sustained the weight loss and continue to lose weight.

Lots of work left to do but wanted to take a second to say that it can be incredibly frustrating and a long and slow process but trusting the process will continue to be beneficial for all of us.

Yo - Fellow Thicc boi here.
Any opinions of the Birddog brand shorts?

Wife told me about them and thought it might help with the ongoing chaffing issues in my life.
I create a lot of thigh friction. Size 38 waist and disproportionate thighs to waist (College football). Use baby powder quite frequently but would love some shorts that might not create the same friction that I experience now.
Any help appreciated.

I love birddogs shorts, very comfortable and have had no issues with them.

The khaki style have belt loops too if you’re looking for something to wear on the golf course or just a little nicer. I have the khaki style and normal workout shorts and couldn’t be happier.

How’s everybody doing?

Still on a quest to break 200. Started at 230-235 in January and have plateaued a bit at 215. Diet doesn’t help at times but what can I say - the chick fil a near my house is too often a temptation too good to pass up. Insanity workouts have helped - doing those 3-4 days a week to build a little muscle. Stats from today’s Max Interval Circuit workout courtesy of my whoop.

New to this thread, but not at all new to the struggle. Been intimately involved with the 300lb mark since college. Since I turned 40 in February (shout out Mike Gundy) and my wife is due in October with our first, I’m finally realizing I need to get serious about this. The thought of not being in my child’s life as long as possible scares the shit out of me, and I hope can be the motivation I need to stay on the straight and narrow. I’ve also decided that if I hit my long-term goal of 100 lbs. then I’m rewarding myself with a Bandon trip. If anyone else has taken it deep like this, would love to hear any tips!

I haven’t take it deep yet, topped out at 295 a year and half ago. I’m down 40 to 255 now. I love e the idea of rewarding yourself of a long term goal. Also I have found that I cannot totally tighten the belt, I normally give myself some arbitrary goals, say I’m losing 10 lbs by Labor Day and go from there. Don’t get to angry if you miss a goal, the small decisions add up and eventually become second nature.

And if I can get to 199, I’m going back to Scotland.

I am at -55 lbs (Starting at 260) since Dec 1. Mostly diet based. Also set a horizon of the birth of my daughter (June) which gave me a reason to stick to it. Met that goal and have kind of plateau’d since.

My success came from a specific high fiber, low carb-focused diet and I was just super strict about it. Exercised when I could but didn’t see a ton of difference between exercise/not. Happy to get into more details on if it you want via PM.

Finally decided to make the change about a month ago. 6 years ago I went from working a manual labor job and running quite a bit to an office job and my weight ballooned. I think the heaviest I got was just north of 250. Changed my diet completely, wife has been wanting to go to more of a plant based diet so we’ve jumped into that with both feet. I think I’ve dropped about 8 pounds just from that change alone and now I’ve started running and working out consistently in the last week and hopefully that will continue to help.

Looking for extra motivation for myself.

Thinking of beginning this Sunday through the day before Thanksgiving.

Largest percentage weight lost wins…not sure what yet.

Anyone interested in losing the quarantine weight before the holiday season?

I’ll do September with you.
I’m 240 right now. Need to drop some poundage.

$20 to the winner?

Committing myself to get back down to wedding weight by end of 2020. It’s been a shitty year for all, and my weight loss has been equally as depressing. Getting back into the Peloton and trying to be active. Goal is roughly 30# to get back to 260 by end of year. Working on getting my friends to help hold accountable.

Any idea of a basic tracker app that you can say yes or no to a workout but its visible for your friends?Trying just to show high level so someone can reach out and say “hey…everything good?” Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No idea on the app, but I’ll keep you accountable with the peloton!
