The two syllable pronunciation is the accepted correct pronunciation when talking about the Hawaiian style patio. (It may not be the common or accepted pronunciation when actually in Hawaii, of course.)
But, yeah, the island should be three syallables.
I feel like Lanai is a good example of picking battles. Saying it correctly is equivalent to Americans saying Paris correctly. Most Americans do not and so I don’t fault us getting certain Hawaii words incorrect. I mean if you think about, we don’t usually say Hawaii correctly either because most of us don’t emphasize the ending ee sound either.
But it does feel worse than getting Paris wrong because we’re the same country. But then again plenty of Americans get California names wrong because they don’t know Spanish pronunciations. I have heard more than once that the Farmers is held in La Joe-La. 10/10 it’s a tourist visiting San Diego or California for the first time.

We say it in English.
From what I gathered from my sister who lived in Paris and listening to her French boyfriend…to speak French is to just stop pronouncing letters midway through the word. Whatever those symbols are at the end of the word are not to be pronounced under any circumstance.

Hope to see more of this in the future. Obviously scheduling is a huge logistical issue but the ideas are just churning. Maybe meeting guys at their home venues similar to the Sawgrass WWOG. Dallas, Scottsdale, Jupe, etc.

As someone who probably has the same bone chip injury Spieth does, I can attest how annoying it is to have to constantly resort to a weak grip (I assume it’s on the outside of the wrist right near the ulnacarpol joint) I wish I had money to blow on surgery to get it fixed but I guess I have to be Jordan Spieth for that. Until then, weak grippers let’s ride.
As someone constantly looking for inventive ways to get out of the absolute shit, this really is probably the greatest shot I’ve ever seen …
