FcF Presents: The Classic Club Championship (June 7th 2025 at Diamond Springs GC)

Pretty sure im equally likely to make a putt from outside 10’ with either putter - effectively 0. So not really giving up much

Lumping these two together feels criminal

Say it to my face at this event. Mostly because I just want to meet and apologize for my online persona.

Don’t apologize… double and triple down.

I’m not going to change, don’t be silly.

Just want to make sure I let the people know in person.

Very interested. Found out our exchange students may be leaving the day of or after CCC, so if that’s the case I may have to back out. If not though, I’ll move to the DMs!

not to leave anyone hanging - my submission for the CCChamp:

Driver - 1950’s / 60’s MacGregor 1w Persimmon (2pt)
FW - 1940’s Champion “Wood” (Hickory) - i’m not certain if this is supposed to be a driver or what, it has no identifying marks whatsoever (3pt)
Irons - 2 thru SW 1980 Diawa Monodyne Tour Blades (2pt)
Putter - 1940’s Hickory Putter (3pt)

also being brought to hit, but not officially part of my set:
1940’s Hickory Mashie
1940’s Hickory Mid-Iron

The putter is straight, but all the other hickories show some amount of bow in the shaft. Very little chance the full swing clubs survive the day but thems the breaks ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Your post got me intrigued and I started searching eBay and found this beaut. Thanks!

Edit: How do we feel about this counting as a hickory putter for points purposes? No idea how old this particular one is, but looks like you can buy a very similar brand new one from their website right now. In sum, it’s a hickory shaft, but may not be actually be old.

i’m willing to count it as hickory
i also offered to give hickory status to anyone who wanted to plop $1500 on brand new tad moore’s. seems foolish, but maybe someone has more dollars than sense

Went on a bit of a shopping spree now that I confirmed I can participate. Will post a picture when everything arrives, but bought @RolandOfGilead Wilson Staff blades from above, Titleist 975d and 975f driver and fairway wood and an old ping anser for putter, TBD age on that one.
