I think a thing that people often over look about the Presidents Cup is that without it we are missing seeing some great international players play team match play. It is easy for US fans to dismiss it because the Ryder Cup is the superior contest, but should we punish Hideki, JDay, Vijay and others for simply not being born it the US or Europe. We are seeing this happen on the women’s side with players from Asia playing well and there being no team competition to measure it.
There need to be improvements made but I think the Presidents Cup does fill a void in the golfing world outside of the US/Euro bubble, which as a Canadian with no real stake in the Ryder Cup, I appreciate.

Enjoyed the pod and can’t wait for a deep dive in Royal Melbourne 2019 and PReed’s caddie punch-up and Tiger taking souls.
I know I will likely end up watching some PCup next weekend because it is in Canada and there are Canadians in it.
Having said that, blow it up and give us what we really want, a mixed team event with men and women playing together.

I wish Gary Player would write an autobiography, just so @KVV could do the audiobook version. I don’t care if it’s exactly what happened or not, but KVV’s play by play of the Jack/Gary negotiating is what I’m accepting as truth.
BTW, here’s a tidbit that I didn’t know before. I remember that Jack/Gary had called Finchem on the phone. I just assumed Finchem had chosen not to attend the PCup in person. But he was standing right behind Jack and Gary when they opened the envelopes and was there for the trophy presentation. Why didn’t Finchy follow the playoff in person?
