Carolinas Christmas Clash - PCC vs. FF - December 10 - Stono Ferry Golf Course

Everyone should have seen the mental mathematic gymnastics we were doing after everyone left trying to figure out how it was a 1.5 win

“we”?

Well it was you. But I wasn’t going to call you out about it

Ugh. Now that I know that we could have pushed the overall match with a halve in best ball, I’m gonna be haunted by that 3-putt on 7. Way to ruin my night, Will!

(Not really - I had so much fun this weekend. And whoever said the greens at the muni are super fun, I couldn’t agree more. What a blast that place was!)

Um, you had bigger problems than a 3 putt on 7. Like your useless partner. Sleep well.

Sorry I had to miss the muni.

Had a great time and the muni was amazing. Was in love after the second hole. If only ATL only had place like the muni…

Thank you all again for coming out. I wish the weather on Saturday was a bit more like what we got on Sunday, but beggars can’t choose. Was hoping for a bit more of a golden hour for the roast, but the temperature was about perfect for a December oyster roast in Charleston.

Growing up my Mom loved hosting events for my sports teams and that was passed on to me. Though I will certainly complain about it while planning and organizing, after I know everyone had a good time, I know it was worth it.

Special thanks to @westerj12 for Captaining the losers and helping me plan all of it. Thanks to @rramsbo and his wife for helping watch my children, setting up, and helping me stay organized. Of course thanks to my wife and parents who will never see this but hopefully at least now know my internet/Craigslist friends are mostly normal people. And thanks to @dclthomas for living in infamy in my family’s lore for the rest of time for the amount of bourbon consumed in a 2 hour period.

After totaling everything up we were able to donate $300 to the local Toys for Tots. I thought it was apt given it is Christmas and Stono recently had a toy drive for them.

My original plan was to make it an alternating event and force Wester or @AirMailWedges to host us next year, but we might revisit that and just make the event annually held in Charleston if that is acceptable. First Flight can bitch about playing on our turf, but they can just play better.

Again, thanks to all you guys who came, who had fun, and make the refuge what it is.

@dclthomas may have been the drunkest person in the general Charleston area Saturday night.

I’m ok with this.

Great weekend! Thanks for all you did and your parents hosting us post golf!

An annual Charleston event would be amazing, don’t mid coming to y’all’s turf one bit. But would gladly chat about alternating locations and hosting.

do you want to talk about your back 9 now or later? I fully accept how awful I played on the front 9 not providing any help to @ClarkGriswold as we rolled over and died for you.

Kidding of course we both had one great and one terrible 9 holes.

My team won our group 2-1. My back 9 doesn’t really matter.

HOWEVA

You owe @apmiller a hearty thank you for your abilities to play better on the back and helping you find the clubface

I will not be taking questions on accusations of performance enhancing substances at this time.

Listen…

I grew up on vinegar based and you can ask for some of Grandaddy’s recipe next time you see Mom. You won’t be getting the recipe, but you can have some.

But I rep my team.

It was my first oyster roast. Think I got my oyster to bourbon ratio wrong! Hahaha

I’m certainly in debt to @Paden who got to show off his newly acquired parenting skills I’m sure! However, let’s also note that I was very close to being the first at the Muni the next day walking in with @e.cadwell57 who was complaining about his 1 beer headache hahaha

But mostly to @EZmiss and family. Such a wonderful place to share with us and allowing such a degenerate as myself tag along.
