I just can’t imagine seeing the general distaste for the state of watching golf live right now, and completely ignoring all of it and saying “this costs money we have to pay for it somehow! nothing can change!”

I used to work for Sky in the UK, now part of Comcast. We had a massive research team that I worked in and we researched everything including reaction to content that we aired on our channels. I can’t believe that NBCU / Comcast doesn’t speak to golf viewers or at the very least, monitor sentiment on social media. They have to know that golf fans do not love the TV product, mainly the number of ads, and yet they do little to address it.

I have a feeling we’d be pretty shocked by the amount of golf viewers who genuinely don’t care about the commercial load. It sucks for us, but for the boomers sitting in their chair all day on Sunday or at the bar at their club, they don’t care.
