it reeks of the litigious nature of america where actual laws don’t matter because if you get the right lawyer/judge you can get your way and face no consequences

Gets the same responses and reasons as before, still doesn’t get it. Go figure.

PGA Tour players could just… play faster. Many of them might realize that they actually play a bit better.

Brandel coming down with a serious case of dumb face in this picture, which is quite fitting for the headline

Me reading this

It was only a matter of time before he got in line with his fellow MAGA cohorts.

We knew the day was coming. That’s why I always thought it was a bad strategic decision for him to go so hard against the Kingdom.

Not only did it not make sense from a financial standpoint, but it was clearly the opposite point of view of the politicians he aligns himself with.

Personally, I think the self-righteousness and the related spotlight was too much for his ego to turn down.

Coming back to this topic.

I was just listening to the NLU recap pod and they mentioned that on Sunday at Torrey, with 54 guys making the cut and going off in twosomes, the final groups played in just under 4hrs.

Meanwhile a few weeks earlier at the Farmers (same course) you had them playing in 5h20m going off in threesomes with 70 guys on the course.

The difference between twosomes and threesomes is staggering.

Also, under 4hrs is great but playing in twosomes they really should be down around 3hrs.

I’ve moved to the opinion that the pro game needs a chess clock. You get 40 minutes to hit all of your golf shots. That includes time spent getting rulings. As for walking to your ball and to the next tee that is predetermined and if you go over that time your clock starts.

That would be entertaining.

None of these out of the box ideas are going to fly though so long as the players ultimately have control over PGA Tour Enterprises.

Twosomes should absolutely be able to get around with ease in 3.5 hours or less. However, I could see the TV partners putting their foot down on the Tour pushing for this.

Rory made a comment about CBS being mad that Pebble finished with open TV window.

For the professional product, it requires both the Tour and the broadcasters to buy in and unless true hard data pointed to viewership going up as pace went down, I struggle to see CBS, NBC, etc. giving up the advertising time.
