Absolutely - more the merrier.
Worst case @jhughes2242, you can be my +1.
I like it when my +1âs wear red. Just sayin.
I reserved a tee time for a foursome at 6:20am at Clifton Park on Saturday morning for any of you sickos that want to do that sort of thing before heading over to Caves Valley.
Exactly!
Youâll be finished in 3hrs! Enjoy, this was from a dew sweep a couple weeks ago with @FootWedges
For anyone that hasnât had the pleasure, youâll be floored with the land movement/conditions/quality in the heart of the city for a bargain rate⌠canât wait to get back out there
Wouldâve been an unreal strapped round, Forest Park vibe with Greystone contours
Nice! Third hole⌠I have a knack for finding the tiny patch of hazard area on the right side below the green. If anybody ever mows the grass there theyâre going to find about ten dozen balls.
EDIT: I once got a round in there in under 3 hours, early in the AM.
FYI just got an email with more details and tee times for BCC.
I may have missed it but I didnât see it in the email or on the event page - whatâs the scoring format? Individual net stroke play?
Donât think format has officially been announced but would think some sort of quota format.
Good question. That would likely make the most sense but I havenât found it either
To be clear - it really makes no difference, I I just want to mentally prepare for the manner in which I will embarrass myself.
You didnât miss anything as I havenât posted it yet. Iâll report back as soon as I put it up on the website.
Just confirming that the Saturday tickets donât come with a parking pass. 99% sure that was the case but I will be cat sitting (meow) at my brothers so wonât be grabbing the shuttle from the hotel Saturday morning.
Fam:
Glad Baltimore is getting a spin in the vast NLU universe. I will be popping up here and there at this event. Please spot my big head and salt and pepper beard and say hello. Bonus points if, after meeting me, you promise to join us for a future episode of TV club.
A few things Iâd recommend in Baltimore when youâre not watching the golf or playing the golf at BCCâŚ
-crab cakes and oysters at Faidleyâs Market on Paca Street. This is a Baltimore institution. It looks a little like a (clears throat) distressed area. Donât worry. Itâs perfectly safe. The oysters at the bar are awesome and not expensive. They shuck them right in front of you. Order a National Bohemian to go with them. (Call it a Natty Boh.)
-Mobtown is a good brewery. Hope to see all of you there. But if breweries are your thing, Union is my favorite. Their summer sour, Old Pro, is my absolute favorite sour on earth.
-If youâre staying at the Pendry, walk over to the Daily Grind for coffee in the morning.
-The Blue Moon Cafe has maybe the best breakfast in the city and itâs a quick stroll from the Pendry. Just be aware, it fills up quick and the wait can be 45 mins or more if you show up an hour after it opens.
-Remember in Season 1 of The Wire when Wee Bey confessed to two more murders because Bunk and Kima agreed to get him more pit beef? They got him an order from Chapâs out on Pulaski Highway. Is it convenient to where you are staying? Absolutely not. But itâs a fun excursion.
-If you want to drink on the water, Nickâs Fish House is a fun hang. The food is decent, drinks are cold and youâre away from tourists and right on the water if you sit on the deck. https://nicksfishhouse.com/
-If you canât get to Faidleyâs for a crab cake, you should still have steamed crabs somewhere. Baltimore Magazine has a good guide here. Most of these places will treat you right and itâs really a matter of how fancy you want to be vs. how redneck you want to be. I personally like LP Steamers. The Essential Crab House Guide - Baltimore Magazine
-Cosina Luchadores is my favorite cheap Mexican food, maybe anywhere. You can walk there from Fells Point too. Amazing pozole. Amazing handmade tortillas for tacos.
-If you are looking to have dinner somewhere nice on Friday or Saturday, message me and Iâll recommend a place based on your tastes. The Prime Rib is probably the best steakhouse. Donât go to the Rusty Scupper, itâs a tourist trap and the food is mediocre at best. If youâre adventurous and want a great meal thatâs like nothing youâve ever had before, make a reservation at The Helmand. Itâs Afghani food and itâs incredible.
-If youâre eager to play golf outside of the BCC outing, Clifton Park is as fun as any $31 outing in urban America. Rocky Point is harder to get on, but the same price and views of the bay. (Shout-out Strapped.) If you want something a bit better but still reasonably priced, Mountain Branch is very fun and about 30 mins north.
-Open to any and all other questions. And remember:
Will also add that Union is my favorite brewery in the city and definitely recommend it. If you decide to go there you can also check out Waverly right down the street which is another smaller less known brewery but has really good vibes as we like to say on here. For dinner in that area would highly recommend getting pizza at Birroteca. The Duck Duck Goose might be the best pizza Iâve ever had.
The Oâs will be in town not that I recommend going to see them play right now. But if you have never been to Camden yards, buy yourself a $10 ticket and grab a Boh at Pickles just to check out the stadium.
Looking forward to next weekend with all you guise.
G&M⌠technically in the county, but its the best by a wide marginâŚ
Old Pro has ruined me. Itâs so good that Gose/Sours are the only thing I want anymore. When I see it at the store I buy twice what I need so I donât run out. Itâs also the perfect golf beer. Crisp but also low enough ABV to just stay dialed. Mobtown will have their Kitties & Beer on tap which is another personal favorite.
Iâll be staying in Hampden and will prob walk over to Union Thursday if anyone is in town early.
Always thought so to. Until I had PappasâŚâŚAnd Jimmyâs.
