Armchair Architect Needed: Help design backyard wedge range

remember to follow those corporate formalities!

Couple things - we aren’t going to declare BCN a golf course. It’ll always be just @BCNSuper house in the eyes of the law. So we will pay our additional $300 for a $1 million dollar umbrella in addition to home owners insurance.

To my ears, this is worse then political talk on here, so let’s refrain from worst case scenario conversations please! Alright have enough trouble sleeping as it is.

Would love to work with these tax/legal/business minds on here to make sure we are doing what is best for SGB present, past and future.

Fair - delivering tough news to my clients is a daily struggle but CYA is important and it looks like you thought through it. I’ll hang up and listen

And if someone kills somebody with a wedge - well they shouldn’t have been standing there

I hear ya and was really just saying that in jest but we have thought about it quite a bit. My dad is a critical thinker and is one to make sure he is protected, if not over protected, in all aspects of life. We had the insurance talk back in November last year before we launched the community funding piece.

The best membership in golf:

  • Come for the lovingly handcrafted backyard golf.
  • Stay for the finer points of corporate tax law.

Just to help keep my bearings as you post these awesome construction photos.

Siiiick.
This makes me inordinately happy. And I must be a slow reader as the whole thread took me almost 4 hours. But I did keep getting distracted by the twitter links etc…

Honoured to be an international member.
Can’t wait to see the progress once seed (edit: turf!) goes down!

Wet Fart Noise

Only 9 of the holes are presently open for play. Not sure they will have 18 open in time to play any events this year from what I have heard.

Welp…

I suppose I also have to cop to being a bitter former member who left when there turned out to not be a monorail. (The redesign was supposed to be completed and 18 holes open for play in June of 2017).

Better than advertised

Great weekend out at BCN. Logged 27 hours of work.

Kicked off the weekend on Thursday with the big guns:

Worked a little more on the bridge but mostly did some grading to fix the ruts that were made when the bridge was built initially. Picked out a few hardwoods for milling as well.

Slowly but surely, we are getting the entire property raked. Worked on the area between 2 fairway and 3 green.

Lucky enough to have an awesome sunset for once. BCN was glowing Thursday night:

@jwfickett came out for the start of the fires on Friday night. Ended up being a long night with many beers drank.

We focused most of our energy burning the pile behind 3 green. Got real hot around 9 PM:

We were expecting rain Saturday afternoon so we got out there bright and early to keep the fire going. @BCNSuper on the tractor deep in the smoke pushing the pile together. Thank you for your service!

While tending the fire, we got to work clearing out the creek bed below the 7th tee box.

Started out pretty gnarly:

So much better now. We are going to keep this area natural and not worry about maintaining grass:

Ended up burning the fire down quite a bit. It’s still smoking right now.

We have officially moved on from tree and brush clean up. We got out there and outlined the green concepts and played the routing a few times with folks that stopped by. Had an absolute blast.

Was nice to sit back with a few beers and reflect on all the work as the fire burned. The reality of all this is getting closer and closer. The work doesn’t stop, but we have accomplished phase one of this journey.
