Your finest work yet @KVV@MerchCzar. Thanks for taking us on that ride you with you guys!
Underrated moment was Neil catching that roar from Rory’s chip-in Saturday on 2. That sound gave me chills and I had to re-listen to it multiple times. I can’t even imagine what it was like in person.
The first episode of a podcast I listened to was and episode of Radiolab titled Apocalyptical in 2013. It was amazing! While most podcasts are a one time listen, and in my opinion fairly disposable, this is one I go back to often because of its joy and beauty in turning me onto podcasts. I say that to say this. The Sounds of Augusta was the first podcast since to bring me that joy and amazement. That was not a disposable piece of podcasting to occupy time and distract from boredom. That was a work of art that I can see myself going back to many times in the future to enjoy. Well done gentlemen. That was something incredibly artistic and unique that captured the feeling of the tournament beautifully.
Thanks so much for this note (I worked on the Masters episode with Kevin and Neil). Radiolab has been a big sonic storytelling inspiration for me over the years. I’ll have to go back and check out ‘Apocalyptical.’
It’s a live episode with musicians and guests and just an incredibly fun time. Not as polished as a typical Radiolab pod but I found it pretty magical back then, and still do today. (Also the secret weapon of that pod is Glenn Kotche the drummer for Wilco providing the live soundscape)
Gents, truly phenomenal work and what a brilliant idea.
Icarito theme song cracked me up and I was almost - almost - as nervous and excited while listening to this pod 4 days after the Masters is over as I was watching it live on tv.
This was absolutely amazing! Please do something like this for each of the majors. Would love to hear more of this…and more of KVV’s narrative. KVV…you are an awesome writer/storyteller!!
Echoing what has already been said, this episode is incredible. Won’t be surprised at all if this draws attention from the green jackets and gets KVV and/or Neil both into the media round next year.
