@MerchCzar hope I’m not too late to the snow blower decision. If you haven’t bought a snow blower yet, skip the Ace or Home Depot. Instead, head to a proper power equipment center. You’ll get better service and maintenance for the lifetime of the machine. They can set you up with the correct oil, spark plugs, tires, and auger lubricant when it comes time to replace those items. Otherwise, you’ll end up on Amazon not knowing if you’re actually buying the right product.

I’ll throw vote to Ariens, they make great 2 stage machines. They range in 24" - 36" in width at a variety of price points. The newer ones have a steering assist, buy if you don’t go for that model, you can also disengage the drive pin on one side of the axel. Makes turning a lot easier. That said, I’ve only had to put mine in 2-wheel drive once in the 12 years I’ve owned mine.

If you don’t end up in an Ariens, just avoid anything that has a Briggs & Stratton engine. Anything made after from them 2021 is garbage.
