2026 BMW Championship: The Dream has Risen

We could probably get so many cinderblocks with those book proceeds.

Good Morning @Tron

Today marks day Eighty-Seven of requesting a match. I am willing to negotiate any sort of game and if you win, I leave the Refuge forever. If I win, you have to post a glowing review of our city.

I will be out of the country June 19 - July 6. Can’t wait to play.

Police car light|20pxx20px Police car light|20pxx20px Police car light|20pxx20px After the storms that passed through Illinois and specifically Kankakee Elks Golf Course, I will be donating $250 from my own pocket (pockets that are not all that deep) to the golf course to help them rebuild. Every day that @Tron doesn’t respond I will decrease my donation by $10. We are down to $50 from me and through matching donations down to $388.

Let’s travel back downtown to the neighborhood of Soulard. Founded in the late 1790’s by Antoine Soulard

and his wife Julia Cerre Soulard

it is one of the oldest communities in the city.

Home to the American Headquarters of Anheuser-Busch as well as the oldest farmers markets west of the Mississippi River. Starting in 1779 the market began as just a flat meadow where farmers gathered to sell their goods. By the 1840’s the market had grown large enough that buildings were needed. The main market was built and during the Civil War it served as a Union Army Encampment. However, the 1896 St. Louis tornado damaged the buildings beyond repair. The market once again just became a flat piece of land where people gathered.

In 1929 the Grand Hall was built. Modeled after the Foundling Hospital in Florence Italy, it has four wings shaped like the letter H.

The market still runs to this day Wednesday to Saturday with over 140 vendors. Many vendor stall leases have been passed down for generations.

One of the things I miss most about living in the city. We went there a lot.

You should ask @Tron to be the officiant in your wedding just to get him in here to simply so “No”. The complete ignoring of this invitation is wild.

That market is one of the best things to do on a longer trip to STL. Got dragged there every year visiting family friends growing up. Certified “thing that is sick”

…He’d be in BIG trouble, given he’s been married ~6 months now

Man, y’all see that Wild World of Golf video, maybe we are starting to see why he won’t respond. He is scared of losing another match to a midwesterner! Anyway, one of the things NLU is most passionate about is holding golf broadcasting accountable. Well, that wouldn’t be possible without St. Louis. The first ever full tournament telecast was broadcast locally by KSD-TV in St. Louis. They were airing the 1947 US Open being held at St. Louis Country Club.

The tournament was a real doozy. After four rounds Lew Worsham and Sam Snead were tied at -2. This triggered an 18 hole playoff. Through 15 holes Snead held a two stroke lead until Worsham birdied the 16th and Snead bogeyed the 17th hole. All square going into the 90th hole of the tournament. Both players had a par putt under 3 feet and Snead was about to tap it in when Worsham called in the official to see who was further away. This flustered Snead and he missed his 30" putt and bogeyed. Worsham made his 29" putt and won the tournament.

"Man, lot of different ways we could go here but first lets go down the leaderboard…

Bad Hannah finishing dfl was shocking, thought she had a chance.
Then good Hannah strong showing but just couldn’t close.
We always knew Maddie was a fling but was just flashing for one round.
Morgan might be the worst on the list but the best in the Ozarks.
Jessica as a divorced mom of two shouldn’t of even qualified for this tournament so kind of weird to see in the field.

Anyway, repeat after me."

Think we’ve found the TC’s real feelings about this thread

We’ve known how he feels, this kind of shit gets posted about St. Louis all the time but no one ever comes here to see what it’s actually like. It’s a great city!

He’s obviously not reading this thread to see how cool things are in St. Louis. And I’m not dignifying his ignorance on twitter with a reply

I guess if you send a guy 37 links to cinder block related content you have consequences.

Todd’s STL criticisms are as old and tired as his bits. Had OJ killed people here it would be a top 5 city, I’m sure.

Good Afternoon @Tron

Now you may be asking yourself, “I can’t imagine not coming to St. Louis to play golf, but what if we get rained out and I want to see a Broadway musical, top notch music act, or touring comedian?” Luckily for you we have just the place.
Built in 1929 by movie pioneer William Fox

Yes the same man who started 20th Century Fox, The Fox Theatre is the crown jewel of the St. Louis Arts district. Said by Fox in 1929, “No longer need the residents of St. Louis look beyond their own city for the finest in entertainment.”

When construction had finished it was the second largest theater in the United States at 5,060 seats and remained one of the best movie theaters in the country through the 1960’s.
The theater was modeled in a Siamese Byzantine style with grand columns and intricate detail throughout.

The theater closed in March of 1978 but was purchased and restored in 1981 by Fox Associates. The theater re-opened in 1982 and shifted to become a theater and concert venue. Welcoming touring productions of Broadway shows and some of the top musical talent in the world.

I would normally say that having a building this stunning dedicated to the arts would make a downtown great but unfortunately Mets announcers said that they didn’t see people walking downtown when it was raining at noon on a workday so I guess we really suck. Tough break for St. Louis.
