2026 BMW Championship: The Dream has Risen

Folks! This is becoming a movement.

Thanks to our gracious benefactors we are up to three (3) cinder blocks for the Kahuku rebuild.

Currently up to 14.54 USD of material.

Special shoutout to @Tron for supporting the North Shore community.

Good Morning @Tron

Today marks day Eighty-Four of requesting a match. I am willing to negotiate any sort of game and if you win, I leave the Refuge forever. If I win, you have to post a glowing review of our city.

I will be out of the country June 19 - July 6. Can’t wait to play.

Police car light|20pxx20px Police car light|20pxx20px Police car light|20pxx20px After the storms that passed through Illinois and specifically Kankakee Elks Golf Course, I will be donating $250 from my own pocket (pockets that are not all that deep) to the golf course to help them rebuild. Every day that @Tron doesn’t respond I will decrease my donation by $10. We are down to $80 from me and through matching donations down to $478.

I know you all love coffee, I hope you at least live in the USA, and it is today. Well, according to the USA Today, Kaldis Coffee is the back to back winner of the best coffee chain in the country. Founded right here in St. Louis. 10 best coffee chains in the United States

I did not see any Jacksonville locations on the list.

Best coffee chain in the country but not even the best coffee chain in St. Louis

Lotta chatter and movement on the committee the last few days.

Talked with the guy in the shop today when I played 9. He’s going to talk to the bossman about the cinder blocks and if we will need city approval.

That being said!

We are up 15.54 in the cinder block fund.

More to come tomorrow!

Special thank you to @Tron for everything he’s doing for the North Shore.

For all you Cinder Blockheads may I please direct your attention to a real feat of masonry and the STL Brick post from about 50 days ago. And if I know my opponent like I think I do, nothing gets him bricked up like award winning chefs. St. Louis has FOUR! (kind of) chefs nominated for James Beard awards. As well as three separate restaurants nominated

Loryn Nalic of Balkan Treat Box. Bringing Balkan food to St. Louis, and within walking distance of my house, just absolutely killer stuff up and down the menu.
image

Alex Henry of El Molino del Sureste bringing flavors of the Yucatan to St. Louis in the Foundry Food Hall.
image

Phillip Day from Root Food and Wine in Augusta, this place slaps but isn’t really in St. Louis. But when you ultimately come here, play Boone Valley, then leave without saying a word stop by this place for dinner, you won’t be disappointed.

Nick Bagnar from Sado and Pavillion. Sado is wildly good Japanese food. My wife and I did a fancy dinner here and were blown away.
image

Robin in Maplewood is a nominee for best new restaurant and while I haven’t been yet I can’t argue with Mr. Beard. Looks awesome though.
image

Louie on Demun is nominated for best hospitality. This restaurant is absolutely awesome. We went in December and I have been thinking about going back at least once a week.
image

Vicia is nominated for Outstanding Restaurant. Only 20 restaurants in the country are nominated for the award. This is the second time Vicia has been on the list so the consistency and quality are top notch.
image

Jacksonville has one restaurant nominated for best chef in the south region. Chanco King. But yeah you’re right. St. Louis is an armpit with nothing going on.

While the American Revolution never made its way as far west as St. Louis, Famous hero Marquis de Lafayette did visit the Gateway to the West. His interest in the city made sense due to it’s French beginnings but the man Lafayette was most interested in was William Clark. Clark was most famous for leading the Corps of Discovery with Meriweather Lewis and after his voyage called St. Louis home.

During their meeting, Clark showed him a number of pieces from his travels and a necklace made of bear claws immediately caught the Frenchman’s eye. Bears were not native to France and Lafayette was hoping to take it back home with him. Instead, Clark gifted him a buffalo skin coat.

After returning to France, Lafayette received a large package shipped from St. Louis. Inside was a grizzly bear cub. Lafayette wanted to keep it as a pet but was advised against it and he donated it to the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Thus, St. Louis gave France it’s first ever Grizzly Bear.

Me too Lafayette, me too.

Fucking party poopers. Lafayette would be such a bigger name if he had kept the bear.

You know – eventually, you could just turn this entire thread into a St. Louis factoid book … maybe 100 Things to Know About St. Louis … self publish? Raise some funds that way … you never know
