Took my five year old daughter to her first golf tournament today and she loved it. She did a 3 day “golf camp” this summer, and has been addicted to the range. Midland is about 90mins from where we live, so she didn’t have a ton of stamina. We mostly hung around the practice green and walked a few holes. We, by chance, got right next to Brooke Henderson. Brooke waved, and smiled. Totally made my daughter’s day. She has no clue who she is but told everyone about it. Will definitely go back next year!

that didn’t feel real
I feel like that’s pretty common. I’m not watching but I feel like they cut away after tee shots or approaches of the final group all the time.
this was on the green, on a par 3, in between the partners’ shots, though
(with one shot from the other group in between)

The LPGA Twitter account has been promoting it, but otherwise I’d have no clue. In theory the event should be awesome with a sweet location and a midsummer spot on the schedule, but the convoluted way it came about sucks. It also has to be stupid expensive for the players and their support teams to get there.

My hot take is that the US Open is the only true major in the women’s game however I think that being the case it elevates the week to week events on the LPGA. Many of the week to week LPGA tournaments feel like a bigger deal when watching than a PGA tour week to week event does but maybe that’s just me

Really stinks they couldn’t move the Evian up one week to go against the John Deere. Instead it’s against a coffee golf event for the men.

Eliminate the Chevron and make the du Maurier Classic a major again. Charley Hull would fit right in!
Kidding aside, I’m all for Canadian Open to be reinstated as a major.

Yeah I think people make too big of a deal about what’s a major and what’s not. Good on Evian for actually paying up and paying women before it was popular.
