2024 PGA Championship - Valhalla & Louisville Jail

was dumbfounded by kyle porter’s tweet yesterday that he is having the statistically best ball striking / driving year of his career right now. does not feel that way at all.

What have the stats been on Morikawa the past year or so? Seems like he was the best iron player in the world in 2020 but since then it wouldn’t surprise me if Rahm and Scottie were both better.

not sure relative to others, but to himself, he is a better iron player today than he was then. he’s also, allegedly per a reply, 170th in putting.

for argument sakes, he’s just as good a ball striker as Rahm. Rahm is also a top 25 putter. That is a chasm of difference in end results.

I mean he wasn’t that far away from winning Kapalua. A win that I’d argue would probably have propelled him to at least one more this year.

Some SG approach numbers

Morikawa - 2.7
Rahm - 2.5
Scheffler - 3.0
Finau - 2.5
JT - 2.1
Xander - 2.7

What’s the timeframe for that? Jan 1 2023 - now? I didn’t realize Xander’s numbers were that good.

@Soly saying he has no time to visit Wegmans and then immediately saying he just got back from Whole Foods is truly a fucking disgrace. This must be the same guy that travels around the world and complains the McDonald’s isn’t the same in other countries so their food sucks

It’s the data golf ‘current profile’ so yes I think so. This course is going to set up perfectly for him, and he’s my sleeper (if you can call the 5th ranked player in the world a sleeper).

Nick Tahou “Garbage Plate” shoutout right off the bat on the preview pod. Went there for the first time a few weeks ago while on a college campus tour trip with my daughter. First trip to Rochester for my whole family. Can confirm, Wegmans was a…grocery store.

Wegmans is probably one of the best grocery stores in America (probably the best if HEB didn’t exist). Massive failure by Soly here, especially when Wegmans basically runs Rochester

When I moved to the Midwest for in college the first thing I’d do when I got home for break was get a wegman’s sub. Truly the best there is

Especially since the Whole Foods is about a 2 minute drive from a Wegmans

No such thing of getting down Monroe Ave from around the 590 in two minutes

All four what? I’m assuming US Open, US Am, PGA, Ryder Cup.

Wegman’s truly is as good as it gets. 4 years in Syracuse taught me that I still drive 30 miles to Wegman’s once a month now that I’m back downstate

I had about 20 minutes before we were set to record and needed the hot bar as fast as possible. No variables. This ain’t a culture trip, it’s a content trip, I will not be sullied over this.

Glad to see Full Swing put their thumb on the scale for the Scottie and Brooksie content.
