2024 PGA Championship - Valhalla & Louisville Jail

They never played the ball up in the past?

I just don’t think you should be penalized after hitting a good drive in the fairway to then not use your skill to hit a good 2nd shot

Now we’ve got DTC lawn fertilizer??

I’ve played tournaments where I’ve gotten fucked hitting perfect drives because they decided to play it down on a wet ass course. It’s as dumb as having to hit out of divot in the fairway.

Are we playing golf or driving range? Is there not a skill to playing around tough conditions?

JT didn’t get the Tiger bounce over there. Confirmed someone threw Tiger’s ball in 2000

I’m still shocked Johnson Wagner hasn’t made his way over there in honor of that PGA

If he isn’t holding on to moving cars tonight, he is a fraud.

Imagine being level par for 36 holes at a “major” and that’s not good enough to make the cut.

I might play in the rain tomorrow so this is false.

They don’t keep track of it in the record books so I can’t say how often the PGA Championship has played it up, if ever. I know the majors are pretty loathe to do it, while the Tour basically just does it if they have a partly cloudy forecast.

I remember a wet Masters (might have been the fall 2020 edition?) where they talked about the skill of playing in wet a lot (because obviously Augusta is never going to allow people to play it up) and the old guys really did have all the tricks. Hitting lower, spinnier drives that were less likely to land and pick up mud, knowing how to hit shots that moved both ways so that they could play shots that would work with what the mud might do if they got a mud ball. How to knock the mud off a ball on a lay up.

But all the casuals remember is that Augusta wouldn’t let anyone call them mud ball and made people call it “organic matter.”

Imagine being 9 shots back of a guy who did his warm up in a room with drunks, meth heads and a communal toilet

Y’all heard of the new Chase Sapphire Reserved card? The benefits are unbelievable

The crazy thing is Augusta will happily play it up at Champions Retreat for the ANWA year after year but shudders at the thought of it at their course.
