âThe 4th hole anti-golf homeownerâ
Which Iâm realizing now, is the same hole that had another situation occur last year.
4th hole at Canal Shores has some bad juju.
what happened last year?
Angry teaching pro refused to believe we bought the course for the day.
Was even angrier when he found out we were playing it backwards.
He saw us standing on the tee for 5 minutes and didnât think to drive his cart over to us and ask whatâs going on. He then decided it was worth talking to us after a tee shot somehow bounced 90 degrees off a tree and traveled 30 yards towards him and his student.
So, he didnât check with his boss before bringing a student out. Didnât think to talk to us while we were standing in the fairway. Didnât signal to us that they were playing and got mad that a ball bounced off a tree 30 yards away in his general direction.
And then he had his student try and hit while arguing with the group.
Got donation numbers in from the day-of, and we raised about $1700 day-of for the course.
Iâve gotten nothing but good reviews from Tony the super, the staff, and the community.
Thank you everyone for your support and for coming out to play some adventurous golf! If youâd still like to donate (make sure you mention either NLU, The Refuge or the War at the Shores) the link is below:
Should we send something to the man on the 4th hole in good faith? Edible arrangement? Hickory farms box? 30 ft net?
Maybe a signed glove with the Circle X marking on it
wonder if they do gift cards.
I hope a certain individual doesnât see this and get any ideas.
Imagine how much they could have got if the house was entirely made out of glass!

The committee is still in negotiations with the Kemper Sports people on when we would be allowed to claim the golf course as our own.
Apparently the whole âwe just redid the greensâ thing is reason to believe we would not treat the course wellâŚ
The course will be in great hands, glass houses may not be.
Bit of a tough look for a golf course that doubles as a parking lot.
