Loved the energy and spontaneity of this one, felt like vintage Killhouse! Wonder if there was a shoe change for TC prior to hitting record or if the Brooks shoes were just a happy coincidence lol

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out, can’t see any others jumping ship back to the PGA Tour but I’d be happy to be proven wrong!

Haven’t listened to the pod yet but I gotta imagine Byson will come back but will HEAVILY lobby for changes in how he can film content on the PGA so he can keep up his YouTube stuff.

All evidence of the past of the PGA tour says they would take it away, but it would also be insane for them to do so with the amount of leverage bryson has

I think if the Tour believed bringing Bryson back would be a deathblow or close to it for LIV, they would be more than happy to let him do whatever on youtube.

But what about the exclusive media rights of pga tour players negotiated for by CBS and NBC?

Bryson is one of the few players who is probably a big enough draw that the net positive of having him on the telecasts might be worth making some exceptions. They’d figure it out if all sides wanted it bad enough.

I haven’t watched/listened to the pod, and this likely got raised in it, but the thought that keeps rattling in my brain is:

Of course they let Brooks come back to the PGA Tour, he doesn’t win PGA Tour events, so what does it matter to them from a competition standpoint?

I hope he does and they tell him to fuck off.

What leverage does he have? I don’t think he really needs the tour but the tour definitely doesn’t need him. Would it be nice if for the best product possible if Bryson were there? Sure. But not to the point I think it gives him leverage of any meaning.

Edit: after reading @jwfickett’s post again, I realized I was failing to consider that if Bryson did want to come back now but wanted concessions and the tour would thought it’d be a death knell for LIV, they’d be crazy to not consider being pretty flexible. JC regrets the premature dismissal of your point.

Listened to the pod. Soly seems convinced in anyone else goes after Brooks, Liv is dead. Liv has been accused of being dead nearly as many times as Trump has been accused of being "done for’ and neither has happened. As long as they have golfers with semi recognizable names they will keep playing them to sportswash their image.

Bryson is one of the very few needle movers* in a very bland niche sport. I’d welcome him back with enthusiasm.

Nah Bryson can fuck off.

He’ll be fine though. I mean we’re all living in “the greatest economy we’ve ever had.”
