We’re venturing north into the Highlands region of Scotland for our latest Scottish Golf Trip planning podcasts with Ru Macdonald. In this episode, we profile a number of our favorites in the area, including Royal Dornoch, Nairn, Cabot Highlands, Brora, and more.

thanks to the boys for posting this… recently returned from trip to the Highlands and eagerly wanting to return for more golf… this is a great template, very helpful!

Ru Macdonald? Are you even from Scotland? It’s the Glenfinnan Viaduct, not Glenfiddich - opposite side of the country compadre and contrary to your statement there are plenty trains north of Edinburgh! ( I am sitting on one now!).

There’s lots of good stuff here but - and I say this as someone who would consider Ru a friend! - there are some inaccuracies (as @Euantbloke mentioned about the Glenfinnan Viaduct and that Carnoustie is in Fife; has that just become a ‘bit’ now though?!) and omissions (please take a look at the University of Highlands and Islands accommodation if you are visiting Dornoch; it’s clean, ridiculously priced and ideal for exploring that area).

That said, this pod a solid starting point for planning a tour of the highlands but - whether it’s your first time or your 15th time coming to Scotland - I’d strongly suggest that any Refugee considering a trip to Scotland immerse themselves in the Scotland Trip Planning thread here.

There’s lots of wonderful content already there and many local and seasoned voices who are happy to share tips and nuggets of wisdom from a position of deep, deep knowledge.
