It’s so tough to remember what you did the day before I guess…

Been very sick the past two days. This is the first time I have been this sick and had my Whoop.

I find the data very interesting. I am curious if NyQuil, which I have taken the past two nights, is causing my recovery to be this awful.

Feeling better today so hopefully will be back into some sort of yellow/green recovery tomorrow and all my metrics get back to average.

Hey whoop users, quick question… I’ve been thinking of getting a whoop for a while but being in Europe I’ve been slightly put off by the delivery times and the cost in general if I don’t see any real benefit in using it. However someone has offered me one for 95€ (about $100) with a subscription valid until the end of June '24. This seems like a decent enough price to me, and if I don’t find the benefit after 6+ months of use then I probably won’t ever find it. Does this seem like a good deal?

That seems like an awesome deal considering it’s $30/month for the subscription. Hopefully they have a couple of straps with it too.

The WRNG (WHOOP Random Number Generator) strikes again.

The actual study states that most of the data metrics whoop provides are important and indicators of stress and recovery. HRV specifically is important.

So while maybe the recovery score doesn’t mean much, the data it collects does. So hate whoop all you want, there are good data metrics to be taken from it.

Personally, the recovery value I don’t put much into anyways. It is a good metric to gauge myself. If I see red, I typically feel red. Yellow and Green can sometimes be hard to tell apart, that’s when I look at the data and the sleep monitoring. I think the stress and strain are pretty good metrics to keep track of as well.

The sample size of the data from the study was relatively small as well.

I don’t hate WHOOP. I just think — and now have some decent evidence — that the WRNG is as I have always suspected.

Since it’s one of the big three things it gives you… not great, Bob.

Totally - it’s a super useful device and as you say, within the parameters you might expect from a cheap external tracker it performs exceptionally.

Iacas is just really proud of coining the acronym WRNG, so he looks for every opportunity to roll it out and remind everyone how clever he is.

It should be known that I didn’t do shit this year. But I did log a 20.3 strain one day which prompted another gui on the golf trip to ask if I was actually dead. Which is pretty neat, I guess!

I started wearing the whoop again in September when (for some stupid reason) to train for a half marathon on one months notice. Kudos to that being my first ever 20+ strain!

Day 1 of the mid am being my highest strain makes sense @QMany

Flew ATL to Phoenix with my 2 and 3 yo. Then played 18 at Grayhawk in snow flurries. Turns out that was my highest strain day :joy:

I’ll get in the mix here. Couldn’t tell ya how I got a 18.2 from strength trainer but I’ll take it.
