I can’t recommend the Whoop athletic boxers enough. I wear those when I do any type of activity, and I wear it on my wrist otherwise. I just make sure to tighten the strap once or twice a day to prevent it from sliding
i just wish it showed the time. Going back into the office regularly now, I hate looking at my phone to check the time and i hate having something on both wrists. I tried to go with the apple watch instead of a whoop but i hate the apple fitness interface. I also cannot do apple watch on left and whoop on right. I’m not athletic enough to pull that off.
I have the bicep band and it’s awesome. I forget I’m wearing it most of the time, which is nice. Charging can be annoying if you have a long sleeve shirt on, but it’s manageable.
I’m debating if I’m going to keep going with the Whoop. It’s a lot of money to basically track my sleep and the journal hasn’t been helpful in unlocking any insights that aren’t common sense.
Has anyone else noticed a weird correlation between golf and recovery? Limited sample size but in the last week and a bit, I’ve had super good recoveries (shout out Dry January!) on all days except the day after golf. Both days, I didn’t change anything else but woke up with sub 40% recoveries. I’ve never noticed a correlation before but have always had increased alcohol consumption on golf days…Will continue to monitor (I wonder if there’s a way to add it to the journal!)
higher strain on golf days than non-golf days?
Not really - golf days are usually around 18 strain which is on the high end for me but not a complete outlier
Could it be that you become more dehydrated? Being outdoors and having a longer “workout” could play a factor as opposed to say an hour long workout?
I’m not sure if it’s just me but does anyone notice they have to charge their 4.0 more often as of late? I love my whoop but I swear it’s just not holding as much juice as it used to.
That’s my working theory. Something about prolonged being outside is tuckering me out
The annual summary was pretty telling. I did whole 30 for January last year and it was by far the best month I had of sleep and recovery.
Golfing in Vancouver in January is not something I would wish upon my enemies.
I would take 5°C and drizzle on real grass over sim golf at this point. We have like 1/2m of snow in the yard.
We were in Qzips last weekend!
Man I can’t wait for next Wednesday to completely not learn anything from the last 31 days!
I grew up playing year round here. Played like every New Years Day. Now I don’t play from Nov 1st to mid February other than a trip to Hawaii.
Every course is just an absolute mud pit and the weekends are much better spent on the mountain. I wish there were more sims here, I have like 5 courses within 10 minutes and the closest sim is 25 minutes away.
Yes, absolutely. I used to charge every Monday during work and it would last until Friday afternoon. Now I have to charge every 2-3 days.
Appreciate the feedback sir. My buddy pointed it out to me the other day and I definitely feel like I am charging mine more. Thank you!
Lowkey glad I just got mine and that’s been the norm, might piss me off if it was lasting a week and then only a couple days
The 5-day battery life was pretty nice. I got into a habit of charging while I sat down for work on Monday, then topping off the battery with the wireless battery pack on Friday afternoons.
Now I typically recharge every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday while sitting at my desk.
