A couple things come to mind purely out of curiosity:
- Tournament week, what’s all free? (Car, on site food, club repair/swap, balls etc…)
- How many people do they feel they need to give a gratuity to that’s not their caddy?
- How much does their celebrity earn them off course that’s not from a logo on his bag or other sponsorship dollars. If Rory makes $10mm in sponsorships, how much does he earn from a random speaking engagement or corporate hit and giggle.

Does the jock tax influence the schedule making process? Does it move the needle enough for you and other tour players to rest a week or two in states with income tax? Also, what’s a typical spend on an off week?

The PGATour has not been shy in the last 10-15 about gouging the shit out of their prices to fans (tickets and concessions). What are the percentages of the revenue from the following sources as applied to the cost of running a single event?
- The title sponsor
- The TV contract with CBS/Comcast/Versant
- Direct fan revenue (tix/concessions/merch)
- Secondary sponsors/signage
- FedEx (being the umbrella sponsor of all things PGATour)
Does gouging the fans at events really make that much difference towards the overall tournament budget? Is the badwill really worth it?

There was recently a 500k earning floor added for PGA tour players. Without naming any names would love to hear stories of people losing money on the PGA tour over a season due to travel, lodging, rental car, coaching expenses and missing cuts before this was enacted.

What % of PGA and KFT players took start up money from someone at their home course with a promise of a cut of future earnings?
If they took $50k and promised 5% of future earnings does that typically have a cap or are there guys that are in the top 50 that are still paying out on startup funding?

the caddies are independent contractors. the players are independent contractors, with a pension program. what would it take to get a pension program going for caddies? Is there room for a union here?
On this too, are there PGA-approved legal teams and financial advisors?
If so, how did those firms end up being in favor?
Or is it a free-for-all for every rookie that earns his PGA card to find the financial advisor they trust the most from their high school class?

Tournament earnings are paid directly to players as individual 1099 income (assignment of income doctrine). Endorsement deals and other off-course earnings can be structured to be paid through player-owned entities.

If available, I would be curious to learn about how many $ sponsorship deals net a player, and how those are structured. What is the difference in earnings for a star vs average tour player vs KFT? And is it a fixed amount, or do they get bonuses based on performance or other things? Also, what other obligations does that require from the player besides just wearing the clothing/logo? I am mostly curious about logos directly on their clothing but if you have info on other sponsorships as well that would be interesting.

Do I need fuck you money or fuck me money in order to start a proper* mini tour?
*meaning I actually pay everyone unlike some of these crooks who have taken advantage of guys desperate for a shot

Are equipment deals as lucrative as we think? What and how do players actually get paid? Why do more players not just build a bag based on what is right for them rather than manufacturer deals. Is there money still to be made on using a certain brand over another. The likes of Brooks still use Nike Vapor / M2 3 wood etc. Thanks Deny, you’re always on the money.

How valuable “corporate outings” are for high end PGAT player (i.e. Rickie Fowler at his peak), and how much more valuable it is for a lower end PGAT/KFT player? What dollar figures are we talking about?
