Waveland Breakfast Ball Club: 2025 (Chicago, IL)

Maybe since I’m not playing I’ll just come out with a water station at 3 Green and then move it to 7 Tee haha

Yeah that is the overall problem with doing speed golf as a group but I think our overall goal is to give it a test drive and then be able to watch and heckle the other groups

I think the gaps will need to be so small, like <3’ we can manage to send 4 speed golfers off first. Start in order of running speed ie. Ryan first. Instead of 8-10’ between first off and the next 4some, it’ll be 12’. Negligible and they’ll be playing without anyone in front. Should net out.

My understanding is that score is simply strokes + minutes to finish.

Yellow Srixons inbound.

Great season all! (Sadly deletes calendar hold…)

See everyone later, hopefully with less feces laying about.

Anyone complete the birdie challenge? Hole 3 was the only one that eluded me…and I almost chipped in today to seal the deal but it wasn’t meant to be.

Nope. I don’t think I birdied either par 3… Gotta get those irons dialed this winter I guess.

so, does this start the official off season?

not that i won’t play as long as there isn’t snow on the ground.

i need to come up with some stuff to work on.

Missing 1 - which I most notably once turned a birdie look to a 4 putt. I made it a personal '21 goal so better get back out there.

Met the other goal, eagles on 5’s.

Could do one of 5i’s leagues, or if enough of us get the membys run it that way.

Yessir. This was the last week we had booked for all 12. So no more standing thursday tee times.

It was a great time and boy did it help the week go by fast knowing I got to wake up every Thursday and play golf with great siickos.

As for today… Speed Golf was awesome and it was a shock to the system to finish 9 in 32 minutes. Shotout to @SammyS … does that final S stand for Speed? He went out and finished with the best time of 30 minutes and while @Ballgame and I trotted our way to 32.

Ted finished with a 40 so his total score was 72. I finished with a 46 so a total score of 78, and Sam finished with a score of 50 so a final score of 80.

The experience was one to remember as I ditched my bag on the 3rd tee box and went with the old fashioned just carry your clubs. By hole 8 I was drenched on the outside and on the inside so I tossed my jacket towards the bench and never looked back. Finished on 9 looking as if I had just jumped into Lake Michigan.

I also failed to birdie 3. Just took a look at my stats at Marovitz for the season and the hole-by-hole is pretty interesting. Good: I killed 8 & 9. Bad: I forking STINK at the par 5’s. I should be at least a half stroke better on those par 5’s

Interesting how much better you were on 9 than 1. I’d say 1 might be easier over an entire season b/c no potential for a lost ball. The breakfast ball rearing its ugly head indeed. I’m going to have to run the same exercise.

Edit: Only had 6 rounds of hole-by-hole.

I probably won’t become a member, but if anyone ever wants to bring me along… my office is 2 blocks from there and I would love to tag along a couple mornings.

I was told this week in November/December, my Company will start traveling again M-Thursday so a member ship a 5 iron doesn’t make sense for me personally.
