Waveland Breakfast Ball Club: 2025 (Chicago, IL)

Wheels I think you’re good. 25 total rounds I see missing 6-7 or so?

I think some of the weeks were maybe going to be used for a playoff or postseason? I just saw @djheadley referring to 20 weeks from may to early September and knew I was out for 7. Either way, it’s all good to me.

Yeah my thought was you’re eligible to score up to 15 scores. This promotes people to miss less.

The total regular season winner or winners will get a bye in the first round of fall playoffs or get extra strokes in the first round. Probably will do a match play based on seedings.

If we think 15 is too many we can cut it down to 10/12. But I was thinking that rewarding consistent showings so it would decrease cancellations.

And yes for the quota game just divide it in half! I have an excel spreadsheet sheet I’ll share via email with you all here shortly.

If you don’t hit the cap you just 0 points. It doesn’t hurt you to not get to the cap it just doesn’t help.

How much room do we have to allow for rainouts? Chicago summers and all.

That was also a concern. My gut says we should cap it at 10 thus allowing for the occasional miss and Mother Nature.

This would also let the regular subs have a better chance of getting a higher seeding for the race to the clock tower playoffs presented by the Chicago park district

Feel free to throw me on one of the earlier times if they are still open.

i’d put the onus on the players and make it easy for you.

one thing we should address is that the player’s indexes will change, so then our quota’s do too right?

i’m about to have some of my low guys drop off from last year. gonna be dotting more soon!

I am a true believer in the fact that golf is forever changing so I am down for a flux quota as your index fluxes.

What about odds numbered handicaps?

Still works the same way. You’ll just have a .5 at the end. So if you have a handicap of 13 then 9 holes is 6.5. So your Quota for 9 holes is 11.5. Once you surpass your quota you could end up with a score of .5 or more, which honesty will help when there are ties at the end of the season.

And we should do our course handicap correct?

That is correct! If you don’t have that nifty app from CDGA or another Handicap calculator I used to use excel to calculate it.
