@JAD took me down 1 up today after a yuuge birdie putt on 8 and a clean up and down on 9 to clinch it.

Hoping that my fellow Domer does a little better than the Irish the last time they reached the last four of a playoff.

EDIT: Hole by hole because why not

Hole 1: Both go in trees right, both hit shots with trees in our grill, JAD makes 7 and conceded my 8 footer for 5…BBK Up 1 in a pillow fight

Hole 2: Both recover nicely with birdies from less than two feet

Hole 3: Both boring GIR + 2 putt pars

Hole 4: JAD 4 beats me as I got caught in the back bunker, All Square

Hole 5: JAD went OB off the tee, I made a comfy 5 to take the hole

Hole 6: Two pretty boring pars

Hole 7: JAD gets up and down for 4, I can’t get up and down and it’s back to all square

Hole 8: I hit a miraculous flop over the left trees from the 2nd hole to the point we have identical birdie putts, but JAD holes a 20ish footer for the win to go 1 up

Hole 9: I hit a good drive and two putt for par, but JAD ultimately made a clean up and down and put the nail in the BBK coffin

Shot a 44 for a +5 quota. Our group had a few good breaks from trees/poles today. @rmbartell with the biggest one off a fence post on #8 to end up in the green side bunker instead on LSD.

Heck of a showdown today between @PinkPantser and myself. I ended up winning the match 1up.

Breakdown of the holes went like this

Hole 1: DJ 3 (We were both on the green in two and I got the putter rolling to make a 12 footer for birdie)
Hole 2: DJ 5 for 4 (We both had trash drives, but both walked away with pars, just so happened I was getting a stroke on 2)
Hole 3: Jake 3 (Jake put it just off the green and I made a total mess of the hole and had to chance to get up and down)
Hole 4: DJ 4 (Jake had the rub of the green and was stuck below a tree and I was able to punch one out to the right side of the green and make an 8 footer for par)
Hole 5: tied 4 (Jake played this one up 4 and was on the green in 3 and left himself 3 feet for birdie, I got to the green in two and made a comfy birdie… same score different stories)
Hole 6: Jake 3 (Jake screamed “oh no!” as his line drive of a wedge was headed towards the bunker, but the ball cleared trap and left him with 20 feet for par. I pulled my shot into the right greenside bunker and got another fried egg)
Hole 7: DJ 4 (I had a comfy hogan, while Jake hit his tee ball to the fence then tried the hero shot over the running path and trees, but didn’t get it done)
Hole 8: Jake 3 ( I had about 15 feet for birdie and crushed it by the hole, while Jake made easy work of his first 5 footer of the day and put the pressure on me going into 9 1up)
Hole 9: tied 5 (we both had questionable drives and neither of us made the green in reg. Comfy 5s for the both us)

Looking forward to playing @Ballgame when he returns from being out of the country.

And here are your final four contenders in the Race to the Clocktower!

@Ballgame vs @djheadley

@treeputttim vs @JAD

Gents let’s plan on getting the final four round in on 9/15 if Tim can snag a sub spot. This way we can plan for a fun championship… Maybe a full 18?

I am no wordsmith but maybe I will put together a Final Four preview this week or next. Maybe I won’t, maybe someone else will.

Conquered my demons today when it no longer matters. Finally birdied 2 and eagled 5. Would of gone +7 on the quota today.

Almost skipped the bird and nearly jarred it on 1 for eagle, finally got that bird off my back. My Marovitz personal '22 season challenge I think is down to just 7, need to verify 9 in apps.

@treeputttim Think you should be able to slide into @Lockwoodj14 's sub spot next week as he’ll be out of town.

Note: Before you ask… Yes, I’m acting as his personal assistant and Breakfast Ball’s unofficial COO of Bookings.

I’m actually in Austin, TX from 9/15-9/19 so I can’t make the 15th.

Anyways here’s hoping this doesn’t go like my last match with @JAD where I didn’t make a par the first 9 holes.

Anyone need a specific tee time this week?

Also looks like we have a sub spot open this week if anyone wants to hop on that

Gooood morning golf fans! Hopefully everyone enjoyed some football yesterday or was a crazy person like me and golfed in the cold rain. Never the less we have three weeks left of breakfast ball and it looks like the weather will turn around by then.

This week we only have one match going on and it’s @Ballgame vs myself to see who punches their ticket to the championship of the Race to the Clocktower.

Tee Times:
6:20 @ChiFFI @tt92 @FlapjackNickelsack and @TrajMahal
6:25 @andrewf rmbartell , myself, and Kevin B
6:30 @tmstrods @Lockwoodj14 @BabblingBrooksKoepka @JAD

For the side game may I suggest the one club challenge?

Looking ahead to the next two weeks these are the challenges I am thinking of

9/22: An odds versus even ryder cup match play. We assign what irons you can use and you’re matched up against an odds/even player and compete to see what iron numbers are superior.

9/29: Championship match, Speed golf for those inclined, 4 club challenge (Wood, Iron, Wedge Putter)

I’ll take the sub spot if still available

I’ve very much considered just showing up with a 7 iron the last few weeks.

If I get knocked out I may show up to the last week via divy with one club strapped to me and a box of coffee

If you lose, lets do it.
