Same. Hoping to knock it out by the end of the week.
I’m only just now to New York but Coyne has already put into words what I seem to never be able to when my friends, family and girlfriend ask why I love golf.
Already have gotten emotional after many passages and can’t wait to get deeper into the book.
Well said. I got my copy last night and started reading in bed and just wanted to keep reading all night. Then was reading this morning before work and couldn’t put it down. Considered bringing it into work but realized that would’ve been disastrous my productivity.
Just finished it. Loved it. Would put it second in the trilogy for me. And WBYC received 4 burgerdogs! Nicely done @TomCoyne.
I am still waiting on my copy to arrive…having to come from back East. Hoping it arrives this weekend so I can dive in and get it read before the future Podcasts.
Listening to the Podcast here are the future episodes of ACCA on the Trap Draw.
Part 2 June 10th-covering the first half of the book
Part 3 June 24-Cover the second half of the book
Part 4 July 8- Wrap up the conversation
Really looking forward to this.
Given the vast number of courses he had to play it did feel like some were just mentioned in passing. Maybe meant to leave me curious on purpose? I will have to make my own adventure to flesh out the experience.
You guys are killing me right now. My copy arrived yesterday and I’m in Miami.
My copy has not arrived yet, I going nuts not being to start it.
I wasn’t going to get the book originally because I figured this would be the case, I ordered it anyway and it arrived yesterday. Hopefully it goes deeper on more than just the usual suspects.
I’ll admit, I skipped through to his section about Kansas City because I wanted to see how much of it he put in the book. Covered it really well, IMO. Great few pages on BCN and some quips about Swope and KC BBQ.
It’s 48 degrees, raining, and I have the day off. If I can’t play golf I’ll read about playing golf. Just got delivered.
This was at Amazon Books in Chicago. Last copy. And apparently someone else came in 15 mins ago asking for it. So pumped!
Knocked out about half of it today. Really sucked me in. Awesome read so far.
Same. Couldn’t put it down while on the porch today
Same! Started with my feet up and some coffee this morning and finished working off the golfers tan with a cold beer. “Well shit, I have to know where he went there” - end of every chapter. Wondering if I will/would have same experience with his previous books. Not a huge architect junkie and would probably be less familiar with the courses and places.
Just started last night. Already loving it. I’ve never read any of Tom’s other books - I’m already excited to finish this one and move backwards to the others.
Well I raced through that one. For anyone who cares, I wrote up a short review for Goodreads:
Spoiler Alert: I loved it and @TomCoyne is a saint.
Thanks @greebs I very much appreciate the thoughtful, generous review. These early reviews really help a new book so thanks for taking the time .
Nice review, Greebs.
