It doesn’t feel right calling him a P5 guard, because he just isn’t of that talent level. The fact that Keisei looks better than him should make him wanna hang it up.

I know most people love March Madness, but seeing just a few people in here say it stinks gives me hope! There is another national tournament going on the same time as that first weekend of basketball games. If you get sick of basketball by the Friday night of that first weekend turn on ESPN at 8 PM Eastern. The NCAA Wrestling tournament will be going on and that Friday night is the most exciting 3 hours in sports.
That is how the mats are arranged for Friday night. On those middle two mats the semifinals at each weight are going on simultaneously and they hold matches until both are done. So if one match at 125 ends quickly they wont start the next match until the other 125 match is done on the other mat. On the outside 4 mats are what they call the “Bloodround”. If you win that match you are an All-American. If you lose you are eliminated. It’s truly the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for 3 hours straight. On those middle 2 mats you are seeing 20 guys have their dreams realized of getting to wrestle in the NCAA finals and 20 guys crushed of being that close to making the finals. On the outside 4 mats you have 40 guys become an All-American and 40 guys who worked the entire season to get one match away from placing. The energy in that arena is so stupid amazing. Friday night is always a lot more fun then the Saturday night finals when its just one mat on the floor. This year the tournament is in the BOK Center in Tulsa, which isn’t ideal, but it’s still going to be great. Like I said, I know a lot of people love the basketball tournament, but who cares about a random round of 32 game? Turn on the wrestling and feel truly alive!

We all have our own preferences and tendencies.
In this case, think of it like my favorite NFL teams. I lounge in Rhoback. I probably wear H&B more than anyone else in the group - legit not a day goes by when I don’t wear it. The FJ hoodie I wear on the golf course and on warmer days as it’s more tech-y vs. the Rhoback is a bit thicker. And some of the FJ crewnecks and the Thermoseries and Todd Snyder stuff is awesome. I use Penguin to spice it up (as with Rhoback polos), but also love their solid-colored slacks (we also haven’t done anything with them on the TrapDraw).
Rhoback and H&B on the TrapDraw. Each has its place! I dabble with each brand’s best stuff and it all has a place in my closet, but I’m unabashedly an H&B loyalist/enthusiast to my core…and I’ve got a few of their hoodies en route.

Nationals were in Cleveland a few years ago and I was blown away by how busy the city was. I was working in hotels at the time, and everyone downtown was booked. And for the most part, the people were awesome. I had a chance to go through work, and passed. Definitely an own goal.
Curious, but not about to reactivate my account to find out: is college wrestling Twitter as weird a place as I’m guessing it may be?

NCAA’s in Cleveland were a good time. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn right by Progressive. That was actually the first NCAA tournament that they sold alcohol at the concessions in regular seating. You used to have to be in a suite for that. I was sitting in my seat for the first session and my two younger brothers sat down next to me each double fisting 24 oz Bud Lights. I immediately sprinted up to the concessions! I’ve been to every NCAA tournament since 2003. Wrestled in it from 2004-2008, coached in it from 2009-2011 and now just been a fan every year since. It is SIGNIFICANTLY more fun going as a fan! Good news is that we do come back to Cleveland in 2026! March 19-21, 2026. You should definitely go to a session or two. I’ll be there for sure.
As far as college wrestling Twitter goes it’s not too bad. Penn State fans brag about being great, Iowa fans try to make fun of them for just getting good 10 years ago. I don’t think you’re missing much.

Your sartorial choices are always interesting and bold and I am sure that all of your apparel partners provide good stuff. I just think then in a podcast situation when you are doing the reads as well and as enthusiastically as you all do it can come across as less than genuine. It’s particularly jarring if you switch from one pod where Soly is telling you how he lives in Rhobak and you switch to the Trap Draw and it’s Penguin or H and B getting the treatment. Good luck to you though I’d love to be able to order stuff at will.
By the way I literally wear my Level Wear NLU vest EVERY time I play. It goes well with my Nest beanie

Just had the surgery this morning, currently vibing with the Phoenix coverage, hoping I’m able to enjoy the game Sunday.
Interestingly, I had a vasovagal reaction to the IV and passed out before the surgery even started so the doc gave me some sort of dissolvable version of the splints because he said most likely I would have a similar reaction when they took them out. We will see how it goes, excited to breathe normally soon!
They said no strenuous activity for a week or so, hoping this excludes going to genesis next Sunday since I already have tix. Oops
