Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

I think the most important part of Krispy Kreme is the logistics- it’s not the best donut in the world, but every Krispy Kreme glazed donut I’ve ever had is very consistent over the last 20 years across the country. High floor, low ceiling situation

Yeah it’s basically The Art of the Deal but executed by software programmers at the order of their corporate overlords. Nothing to be outraged about, the default suggested amounts are ridiculous and easy to counter.

Going to join in the anti Krispy Kreme crew - it’s basically overglazed mushiness. No where near the gourmet hipster donut shops.

There are too many amazing mom and pop donut shops in my town to justify a Krispy Kreme visit.

Shoutout to Marie’s Donuts in Sacramento.

Is it really a dive bar if it has a POS? I want my dive bars to be cash only

Quietly waiting for the Tim Hortons shoutout from you.

Lots of down sides to this model, almost all of which are bad for small/local business and consumer choice.

Hate the touchscreen prompts forcing me to take a pop math quiz. I do tip at our local coffee shop that typically does the “vote for your favorite” type option, in our case pint glasses for Cubs or Sox, for example.

My barber is also a small business owner, she actively recruited me to come with her as she left her old franchise place, and took some other stylists with her. I am a huge fan of theirs. I don’t get a haircut every month, usually 6 weeks. So it’s a flat $40 cash (list price $32) and a hundo at the end of the year. It takes her about 20 minutes to cut my hair and I have to believe I am an incredibly low stress client.

Cash only, with some bootleg looking ATM in the bar so you can get cash. But not a banks ATM just like an ATM they own somehow.

A dozen hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts is the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast.

I would just like to state for @Tron, @Randy, and @Soly that with your RedHawks losing to my Evansville Purple Aces in the first game with a new head coach, they may stink. My Aces have been an absolute roller coaster since they beat UK back in 2019.

I think not having a refrigeration system and serving all drinks out of a literal igloo cooler full of ice more than qualifies them as a dive bar. The POS is an ipad with a square attached to it, and its more expensive if you pay with a card, not exactly high tech.

Yeah I’m not here to advocate for Krispy Kreme as a good thing to have in your community, but the business model has to be acknowledged for its success

I prefer my local basic donut place, nowhere else can I get the right hint of cigarette smoke flavor in my coffee.

Meanwhile I’m praying on the downfall of the $6 gourmet fruity pebbles covered donut shops

Apple fritter is my close second. Standard order was CFLJ, apple fritter, and a buttermilk cake. You sleep real well after that meal and being up 27 hours. chef’s kiss

the WORST. I want a fucking donut with my coffee at 6 am, not a 6 year old’s birthday cake

You described the bar I was thinking about perfectly. Cash only, the bar owns the ATM in the corner, and charges a $4 ATM fee

Not only is Randy onto something that Krispy Kreme is mid, I think donuts are bottom tier all together. Give me a nice breakfast taco any day of the week over a donut.
