I read a bit on a pilot forum that suggests that this was not as unsafe or foolish as the Internet at large seems to think it is, but I’m not a pilot, so… I don’t have much to add beyond that.
Pretty simple.
P.S. It didn’t look 41-46 feet above the stadium to me, but… also have seen jets flying a lot closer at higher speeds at air shows, etc.
At most sports stadiums in the US, when the military does a fly over, the aircraft rarely gets closer than 200 ft to the stadium. And we know that with military pilots, their standards of precision flying are some of the highest in the world, they can be trusted flying close to buildings much more than a passenger rated aircraft, the pilots of which we don’t know what kind of flying experience they have.
These pilots got way too close to the stadium - dangerously close. Either the pilots violated planning and got too low or the airline got greedy pursuing the visuals of the flyover and instructed the crew to fly way too close. Whatever the truth is, it’s a really bad look all around.
I don’t know how to tell you this, but your douche radar might be broken. Or the perpetual sound of it going off has you led to believe it’s everyone other than yourself.
And I mean that disrespectfully of course. Please just leave. Everyone here would love that.
