Welcome to the H-E-B fresh tortilla cult, Randy!
All good. They began doing the speedo thing a couple months back and have kept at it. Great supporters of the basketball team, and I was pumped when they made their big entrance last night haha.
I’m very concerned that if Big and Tron do make it to Philly, they’ll end up at Pat’s or Geno’s. Angelo’s is 100% the play here.
Honestly, I wish there was a Penn Station I could go to. Best cheesesteak anywhere.
There’s actually a very good Cheesesteak available in Cap Hill via a Philly Transplant.

I read that headline this morning and thought I had a psychotic break.
The headline implies that the shooter was the driver (unless there’s an unnamed 3rd person driving). Driving, cornhole, shooting a gun, is there anything this quadriplegic can’t do?
Deescalate disagreements without resorting to violence?
The most deranged MadLib ever
Can anyone explain how that is supposed to be read in the mind of the person who wrote it?
I am all for Pangaea being on the list, but it may have to be on a list of things that were sick. That could be a pretty cool list on its own. We’ll have ask about whether it qualifies.
You are right about the mountains. The east coast of the US was adjoined to ~ Morocco and the Atlas Mountains are essentially the other side of the Appalachians. They were also thought to be very big. The Alps are probably a good estimate of the size. They eroded long ago and we are left with New Jersey. Other than Pine Valley, the Garden State Parkway and the Paramus Mall, I am not sure it was a good trade.
Zealandia is a newly recognized continent and separate from Oceania. Continents sometimes sink a little. If you are from the interior of the US, many of the rocks there are marine rocks that were deposited in shallow oceans not all that different than Zealandia. And this happened more than once. Lots of the rocks from PA and NY west to Iowa are Paleozoic (older than 250 million years old) and many were deposited in shallow carbonate seas like the Bahamas - not unlike parts of Zealandia. Then later, east of the building Rockies was a seaway that connected the Gulf of Mexico with Arctic Ocean, running through Texas, Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma, Kansas, Wyoming, Montana and the Dakotas. That was in the Cretaceous (140 to 66 million years ago).

I love stuff like this.
We lived in Western NC for a number of years and when we went to Scotland in 2017, I stood on the bank of Loch Ness and thought about how similar it looked to Appalachia and how it was funny that such a large number of Scottish immigrants settled in NC just to end up in the same mountain range.
Yep, a lot of the rocks are the same age and have the same coal that they mined back home. The terrane looks familiar to them because their mountains back home are made of the same rocks and same ages as we have here.
