I know the Trap Draw is going to monitor the hell out of the situation in El Paso. They’ve got eyes everywhere in West Texas.

It’s already been lifted.

Probably belongs in the Geography debates thread (may duplicate this post there), but I think West Texas is Lubbock/Amarillo/Midland and El Paso is southern New Mexico. El Paso is so unique compared to the rest of the state.

You’re 100% right but I wanted to use the GIF.

I didn’t know Randy’s dad was Craig Kimbrel.

Favorite artist is AI? I’m out on him.

A situation to monitor…

In 2022 Lake Mead hit an all time low - fed by the Colorado River and relying heavily on snowpack melt.

Here is a glimpse into snowpack from Feb 12, 2022 (left) compared to today.

I think the Colorado River is overdammed. At least 1 if not 2 dams are going to need to be removed. Hardly any water makes it to Yuma anymore.

I’d like to thank you for bringing “dams along the Colorado River” into my “what does this look like on Google Maps” scrolling today. This brought to my attention that the London Bridge from 1831 was purchased, shipped, and rebuilt in Arizona. Sick.

Found in the place I was born, Lake Havasu City. Robert McCullough had a vision of building up a resort town in western Arizona and is basically the guy responsible for bringing the bridge to LHC, building up hotel and marina infrastructure in the area, and putting it on the map essentially.

There’s been 6 or 7 versions of the London Bridge, and the one in LHC is the most recent version prior to the current one spanning the Thames.

Having grown up in Henderson and spending a lot of time fishing with my dad and boating that lake as kid, it’s a truly sad and shocking site these days. I don’t know how they continue to support the population in that valley for much longer. I know the City of Henderson is working with other municipalities that use Colorado River water to increase their conservation or even desalination so that Lake Mead can take a larger share of the river flow, but that all seems like such a long shot. I am admittedly not an expert, but the whole situation there seems flawed.

So did I. What HS did you go to?

Basic. It’s always been hilarious to me that it was literally called Basic HS, lol.

Basic was the original name of Henderson - it began as a mining company town for the Basic Mining Co.

I went to Silverado HS, class of 99.

Concerning!

Per Andrew Mason of Denver Sports 104.3 radio, “With Sunday forecast to be in the mid-60s in Denver, every Broncos home game this regular season will have been played with a kickoff temperature of 60°F or higher. That has never happened before; the previous high for the coldest home game of a season was 49°F in 1971.”

Yeah, it’s still funny to say I went to basic High School. I was class of '05, but I got a GED and job by '04. So, a little younger. Moved away to Oklahoma in 2012, now in Texas.
