Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

I’ve always believed the Midwest is actually too broad a term. As someone who has lived in Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio (and also Maryland and Massachusetts, with family all coming from NY/NJ, for context) I would say the first two are different from the other two. Further, Northern Ohio is different from Southern just as western PA is far different from eastern. I think the Midwest is really two regions: the Plains States (Indiana and west to Nebraska/Kansas) and what I would term the Rust Belt of MI, OH, and PA. Those three states are distinctly different from the Plains and Appalachia, in my humble opinion.

Speaking of geology, check out this earthquake video from an M7.9 earthquake in Myanmar in March. You’ll see the shaking start and then watch the field in background. What you are seeing is the slip along a fault as the earthquake happens.

Whoa, that’s a wild video.

Not terrifying at all, lol

Started the video and was trying to figure out when you said “watch the field” if you meant watch the area next to the gate or the area off in the distance under the arch. Was not expecting the whole field to move.

Yeah watch the field had me thinking I’d be watching this multiple times trying to identify a specific spot in the field. Nope, that was easy enough to see and now I have a new fear unlocked.

And to think we were all worried about quicksand as kids.

(Well, at least my generation was.)

And killer bees. Don’t forget about killer bees.

Oh I think those still count. (Maybe that’s what you’re saying.)

Seriously though, quicksand was like a legit fear. I remember this show from the mid 80s called Amazing Stories and they had an episode about some little girl who died by quicksand and it completely traumatized me.

I wonder what the total square footage of quicksand is in the world at any given time.

Edit: apparently, kind of a lot.

We must be the same age. Let’s not forget about the satan worshipers who were going to kidnap and sacrifice us.

One of the original “Satanic Panic” cases was documented in the book Michelle Remembers based on a supposed Satanic cult conducting rituals in Ross Bay Cemetery in my now neighborhood.

The only remaining evidence today is these people who were turned into deer and must remain in the cemetery.

@Tron I think you should get with Taylor Zarzour this week and have him defend his city. I lived in Charlotte for a year and a half around 2012-2013 and he was doing sports talk radio there at the time.

Taylor used to have to read promos for the Uptown Cabaret strip club almost daily. Promoting things like the “eggs and legs” breakfast buffet they had there, things of that nature. Zarzour is awesome but that always gave me a chuckle.

Dont sleep on strip club breakfast buffets. There was one in Fort Wayne that had a top tier breakfast buffet, cant remember the name of it now though.
