Trap Draw: Chop Sessions

I just finished the latest season of “Against The Rules” by Michael Lewis, author of The Blind Side, Money Ball et al. It is very good and very eye opening. I would definitely recommend it.

I also enjoyed this season.

Side note, Pushkin Media’s ad policy of a 3 minute ad break every 10 fucking minutes really makes me appreciate the discretion NLU takes with their ad break policy. @MerchCzar

Along the lines of the social media discussion, I made the decision on March 1 to go Social Media free for the month of March. Was wasting way too much time on IG and Twitter.
I got off Facebook in 2018 and haven’t gone back and after 5 days off these 2 platforms, I think I may be doing the same with these. My mind actually feels a little different not on them, not sure how to explain it. Reading my news on CBC and sports on Athletic instead of getting them off these.
I’ll see how I feel about it on April 1.

Philosophical question: is the Refuge not a part of social media?

I have thought of that, but I find it additive and it’s not mindless for me…most of the time. When I come on and see 150 unread posts in the Costco Thread, I get a general sense of what the fuck happened, and if interested, read, and if not scroll to the bottom and move on.

My thought is that if I were as desperate to be famous as that guy, I’d consider drinking everything under my sink

I would think @Randy @Tron @Soly would all like this guy since he’s wearing a Miami U sweater.

If you know anything about him, you’d be very sure they would not. He first got attention as a member of Browns Twitter, and he’s the dirt worst kind of desperate attention seeking moron our society seems to have an endless supply of

I think to me one of the worst part of the gambling infiltration is how unfair it is in favor of the house. I am a +EV bettor and as soon as you get an edge over the house they limit you and effectively take their ball and go home.

I feel like if you’re going to be allowed to keep taking every single cent form someone who doesn’t have an edge you should be forcer to take action from everyone. If you set a bum line and I take advantage of it, don’t kick me out, set a better line. I know it’s a pipe dream but it seriously pisses me off that they are allowed to do that.

Single best vid I’ve seen on sports betting with an awesome conclusion at the end:

I’m heavily monitoring this:

Allegedly Skattebo jumping up and down on the back of a golf cart at practice causing it to collapse and tear a teammate’s tricep. They have been trying to serve him papers for the lawsuit but has been so elusive that the judge allowed him to be served via notice in a local paper. So sick.

Lol, I am just picturing some process server calling this guys attorney just saying “Look- I am camped out in his gym parking lot waiting for him to come out but he never leaves. Guy is an absolute rat”.

Not a lawyer, but would something like that not be covered by whatever insurance policies the school or athletic department would have? Also pretty convenient timing.

Yeah I’ve been on this block for a long time. No sports book anywhere should be allowed to turn down bets or ban anyone unless they can concretely prove some form of cheating or match fixing. It’s one of those things that people don’t think about, but it’s absolutely crazy once you do

Servers trying to get to Cam.

Lots of speculation and grand assumptions being made on the ASU message boards rn. I’ll hold off until more information comes out. I hope the injured person is okay now. Sounds like Cam made a dumb decision. Whom amongst us haven’t tried to pile on the back of a golf cart? Jumping up and down is reckless though. Asking for trouble. I don’t think it speaks negatively against Cam’s character though and would be surprised if it impacts his draft stock unless he’s purposefully evading the servers now and is trying to avoid the law.

This should have never even had a chance to happen though. The practice facility is too far away from the locker rooms and football facility. You have to go across a major road and down some other roads to get back and forth. There have been other reports of players getting injured in car wrecks driving between the facilities. ASU needs to move the practice facility next to the football stadium where the locker rooms and football facility are. It also seems like ABOR should have just paid out the claim rather than throwing Cam’s name into the situation allowing for the plaintiff’s lawyer to add Cam to the suit.

1000%. Guy deserves money.

Absolutely classless bag-chasing putting Cam on blast for this during the combine. Lawyer said “it’s just a coincidence.” Sure It is, buddy.

On the bright side for Cam, chiefs may be extra interested now to add him to split time with Pacheco

how do we go from jumping on a golf cart to a torn tricep
