Wish I would’ve heard who @Tron and @KVV would compare Rickie to.
My gut reaction was Baker Mayfield. Both went to colleges in Oklahoma. Lot of hype early on and were featured on TV commercials constantly during their specific sports (shout out Progressive), both wore Orange hats on Sundays, each only has one really meaningful win (Ricky the Players and Mayfield that first Browns playoff victory since 94). Both also had a bit a of a comeback in 2023, Rick at the LACC and Baker making Pro Bowl

I think, just playing career, Rickie could be RG3. Legit phenoms, absolutely incredible for a short amount of time, then totally flamed out despite still having big name recognition.
Probably could be Andrew Luck too, but we are reserving that spot for Willy Z

The issue I have with that is the fact that Rickie and Baker’s attitudes couldn’t be any different and the fact the schools they went to aren’t the biggest fans of each other. I like the RG3 comp from @Conley76, but might even sprinkle in some Gene Smith comps with his late career climb back from the Wilderness.

Geno is a good one except he never had the early career success that Rickie did. That’s where I do think the Baker comp works.

A good half comp for Rickie is Carson Wentz. Had a great start to their careers Rickie’s 2014 lines up with Wentz’s 2017 and then steadily fell off after that. I don’t think Wentz has a resurgence in him like Rickie has but I think it works on the front end. Also this is purely on field/course. Rickie is liked by people as opposed to Wentz.
