Trap Draw : Airports 4.1 now out

Want to attest to @Tron take on MSP just being a Shopping Mall that doubles as an airport, he ain’t wrong. Pre-9/11, I know lots of people that would go to the MSP Airport for dates, to hang out or watch a sports game at a Bar. Place is truly a spectacle!

In what way? I agree Delta is a better operational airline, but they serve pasta salad and cold sandwiches in their best lounges and up-charge you for certain alcohol. United Polaris lounges have a full-service menu with all alcohol included.

United is a member of Star Alliance, not Oneworld.

Can’t love it that much if you don’t even know the name.

Southwest is fine. Always enjoy flying them when going to Dallas Love and have flown them to Nashville. I just don’t get much run on them bc if I’m going most anywhere I can fly United or Delta, and the free luggage is irrelevant and the check-in process is anxiety-inducing. Also, sometimes their flight attendants are too friendly (seriously - puts me on edge).

While we’re at it, Delta can be a little too cute sometimes with details and marketing. The music they play on the planes while boarding/deplaning is always awful.

Hmmm looking at the menu offering at DET sky clubs looks rough. Seems like Delta is trying to up the club game in some of the new lounges. Last time through SEA - they were offering a menu you could select from and they’d deliver it to your seating area that included crab cakes and some salmon sandwiches and such.

Apologies on the alliance… always mess that one up. Honestly loved the alliance to Europe for work, but definitely appreciate delta within Asia and now Virgin has been my go to for booking delta one trans-Atlantic and has been the best experience I’ve had

Recently, I’ve just parked at the economy lots on site at the airport. I used to use shuttle services, but I’ve had some bad experiences recently due to lack of staffing. It should get fine eventually, but it’s going to be expensive to park still.

You saying the safety videos? I’m trying to think of any time I have heard boarding/deplaning music.

Much like no one calls Empower Field anything other than Mile High we don’t call DIA DEN.

A lot of West Coast bias in here….

127 Flights logged this year, mostly between Delta and AA, RDU is home airport, as mentioned above, great little airport. Easy to get in and out, decent food options.

Agreed that IND is a hidden airport gem!

CLT is by far the worst airport in the country, however the new AMEX Centurion lounge saves it for me. Also, Centurion lounges in general are pretty fantastic. Surprised not getting more love on those here.

PHL is also pretty terrible, LGA is getting better but too much construction. ATL is big but pretty unoffensive overall. CVG is another underrated gem, Cork & Bottle after security for bourbon pickups and drinking before the flight.

So weird! Almost like DIA isn’t the airport code.

I was joking with my wife last year that when everything was shut down for Covid we should just buy the cheapest one-way ticket we could find and then go spend a day hanging out in the airport bar (and never board the flight), as that was the only place open to drink on new years eve. It would have been like a $50 cover charge to the most exclusive (at the time) bars in town.

I don’t know if I’d be throwing any airport name/code stones in the MCI/KCI glass house!

Totally agree on Virgin. Only ever flown them on the now-ended MCO-GLA. Would love to check out their lounges at JFK and LHR.

The house that Nebbish Teddy with the little hands built!

Also, Centurion lounges rule, but I try to avoid touting those on here too much to keep the “C-Suite” name-calling to a minimum. The one in Philly has awesome food, and the Denver lounge has a couple exceptional breakfast dishes.

I wasn’t planning on landing my flying car there so using the actual airport code seems irrelevant.

We call it DIA here. Ask Randy. He’s a local.

Appreciate the insight greatly - makes perfect sense to me. Hope to hear your thoughts on Indy when the time is right!

Or to go cruisin’ a la Larry Craig.

“I have a wide stance” might be one of the weirdest excuses ever uttered.

Damn, that’s a throwback. That was almost 15 years ago now.

Truth. My aunt and uncle, who lived in Bloomington, used to go to MSP multiple times a week to get free food/drink at the Northwest World Club before they instituted the requirement that you had to have a flight that day to enter.
