Trap Draw : Airports 4.1 now out

Looks like a Cessna either had a total power failure or ran out of fuel and decided to perform an emergency landing… at Riviera. Unreal footage. Why aren’t these guys moving out of the way?? https://x.com/RogerSteeleJr/status/1918407845797875971

What do you mean? It wasn’t headed towards them and then turned and they waited like 1 second until the plane straightened out and then moved entirely out of the way. That was textbook.

This. Apparently AA now has a hard zero-rolling-bags policy for any flights on Embraer ERJs or Bombardier CRJ’s. I got told by a flight attendant a few weeks ago when boarding one (as literally the first person on the plane and going to a biz class seat where the overhead bins are bigger) that there was no way in hell I was bringing my bag on board and it needed to be gate checked, as it was now airline policy. I was fuming because I specifically got the smallest hard case bag possible so it would always fit on these tiny ass jets that seem to be a dime a dozen nowadays. So, back to the soft shoulder-slung duffel bag (that’s actually bigger) which they never blink at for some reason. Insane.

They never say a word!

I have a Stitch Ultimate Garment Bag that I usually travel with when I have to bring a suit. That wasn’t an option this time because of my nerve / arm injury.

I need to look that up.

I once had a very different scenario of this. Tiny plane from Dallas Love to LIT. Announcement was anyone with a hard case needed to gate check. I have a soft duffle but with handles and stuffed full I knew it wouldn’t fit. I leave mine to be gate checked. 5 minutes later FA is walking down asking whose bag this is. I say mine and they ask why I gate checked. I know it won’t fit. He tries stuff it in, fail to do so, and then walks it back out to gate check it. Was a weird moment of pride.

Since when? I’m on a ERJ once a month. Never heard or seen this. I’ll see how it goes next week I guess. I don’t care one way or another. My bags are free but I do like knowing that bag is 100% going to make it

I have no idea. They coulda just been jerks that day and decided to pull the “it’s airline policy” card.

I hadn’t been to DFW for a few years. I’ve decided I will be avoiding the C terminal at all costs. Total zoo situation yesterday.

A lot of problems in life are solved by simply not being poor.

DFW terminal E is highly annoying, poor design. Massive distance between gates. e5 and say e28 might be 3 miles apart and not a whole lot of food options. And narrow hallways. It’s like being stuck in an endless train

The whole carry on bag/overhead bin space debate is always strange to me.

I try and always check my bags, mainly just bc it makes going through the airport easier.

But if I get on a plane with just a backpack, it is going upstairs 100% of the time. I need all the foot/leg room I can get.

Fuck yeah, man, you paid for it.

As a dedicated United/EWR flyer, I’m glad I only live an hour from JFK as well. We’ll be diverting to Delta/JFK for the foreseeable given the reports I’m getting about the situation.

Yeah I’m in a similar situation. Have 3 red eye flights out of EWR over the next 5 weeks and am terrified about it. The two for work are whatever but the one to Edinburgh for a golf trip might require an adjustment

@dgolfman62281 are direct international red eyes given any sort of special priority in times like these? Any good web sites where I can see how certain flights are being delayed/on time?
