Assuming the PJ didn’t hear the request to hold short of the RWY? The NTSB might become the busiest govt agency.

Shit, rich folks having been getting away with shit for so long that even their pilots don’t have to follow rules.

Start fining them then! Or put their standing with the FAA on probation if they can’t follow the bare minimum requirement of checking that they have clearance before crossing an active runway.

I saw a private 737 land at Norfolk yesterday. It was quite odd seeing a plane of that size come in with an unfamiliar paint job.

Quite a few 737-BBJs out there. Rich assholes thinking they need their own 747 office in the sky. Sands Corporation (Shelly Adelson) has a private A340 and 747SP.

Cleared to cross or not, you absolutely have to confirm clear right and clear left verbally within the crew before crossing the hold short line.

Yeah I should’ve phrased that differently in my initial post that regardless of clearance, the crew needs do a visual confirmation, feels like that’s some pretty basic shit!

Assuming they were in a rush and incorrectly thought “oh we can make it before they land.” Per FR24, it appears they got a 10 minute timeout from ATC.

I listened to the ATC audio, not only did the tower tell them twice to hold short, the pilot read it back. Actually read it back wrong the first time which is why the tower corrected him. It seems he did the first thing he said anyway though.

You have to wonder what the hell he was thinking. Complete lack of awareness.

I have, many times. They’re better than connecting on American, United, or Delta… direct flight always wins.

They are above Spirit and Frontier in who they carry. Don’t fly between big cities so you don’t get the Greyhound Bus effect.

Seats are meh but pretty much everything economy isn’t great these days. They make all their money on ancillary (food, beverage, bags).

It’s called a stopover.

Pretty sure a stopover is when you have a planned layover in the city just to get to another city. Iceland Air sells them specifically as a cheap way to get to Europe with a 24-48 stopover in Iceland

Yeah, you’re right. I was mixed up in my head.

Call it the Lucky Layover.

In SFO I had this plus the bonus of being in the exact same seat.

Just a casual text from my wife as another day in the life of a flight attendant.

“Just landed and off plane……

On today’s journal of craziest things on a plane…

I was on the jumpseat…. this older man literally threw his pants away in the bathroom and walked out with no pants on saying he peed in them and threw them away. Went and sat in his seat. Me and the FA working were truly speechless. I had a blanket from one of the flights we gave to him.”
