In those zone, nope!
Think it also applies to ports of entry like seaports and major airports.
Well all the seaports fall in that zone, and most of the major airports too. I think similar rule applies inside any airport though once you’ve passed through TSA though.
Flying into MGM this week to go to the Auburn game this Saturday (All expenses paid shoutout to the employer).
I’d normally prefer to rent a car from ATL rather than the short hop but need the segments and figured it can’t hurt to check out a new airport.
with that said I’ve intentionally put together a long layover on the return trip Sunday to catch the 1:00 window for NFL – What’s the best place to watch in ATL?
This story on Alaska Air seems NOT good!!
I will be very interested to see what the results of the interview of the distressed pilot are. At face value, sounds like a possible Germanwings situation:
Hats off the Horizon crew for immediately recognizing the situation and stopping him before he did any serious damage. I fully support their decision to divert to PDX and have him immediately removed.
As someone who has the privilege of access to the jumpseat, I take that privilege very seriously. Selfishly, I’m glad it wasn’t a dispatcher who did this, as there is a faction within the industry who would like to keep us out of the flight deck, but nonetheless it’s a troubling story and I hope it was merely an isolated incident and not indicative of anything grander.
Assuming based on the question you don’t have a lounge access?
There’s a Buffalo Wild Wings and Terrapin Tap House on concourse D I believe.
I have SkyClub but it’s been near overrun the last few times through Atlanta for me so would be open to venturing from there
If you have the extra time the club in F is great. I generally try to stay away from the one in B. A has been pretty good the last couple times I’ve flown.
Logan, man it stinks
Landed at 11:15. Took 30 mins to take the bus to rental center. (Finding the bus to get to the rental center wasn’t obvious either)
Now in line for 45 mins as all the companies are telling everyone to go to one line and there is one worker…
I got to go into the Salt Lake City delta skyclub with a colleague. Couldn’t believe they tried to sell me a credit card on the way in that would lose the benefit in 8 weeks. Unreal stuff. SLC is a solid airport IMO. Over and out.
Checking in from one of the trap draw’s most hated terminals
At least flying southwest from SAN is efficient. Curb to gate in 9 minutes. Heading to denver to see some fall colors!
Funny, I haven’t seen many negative comments directed at SAN, so not sure what you’re referencing. The only thing that sucks about SAN is the parking garage 1/2 mile from the threshold of RWY 27 that causes high approach minimums, a probably during foggy days as well as climb penalties on the days when SAN needs to be on an east flow.
SAN T2 is very nice, it’s SAN T1 that gets the hate. It’s very old and small. Definitely brought up on at lest one of the pods.
I think most of the disdain is from towards the parking / rental car situation as well as southwest in general. I appreciate the southwest experience but the TD’ers seem to hate it (which makes sense if you usually fly more expensive airlines)
You’re about 2 weeks too late, sadly…
Small but with TSA precheck the easiest security to pass in the country. Getting an upgrade soon too.
Evansville, IN and any other small regional with pre-check would like a word. On the 5-10 times I’ve flown out of there with pre-check, I have waited on a combined 2 people.
I once flew there and am at a loss as to why that airport exists.
Difference is SAN is international and it’s traditionally the busiest single runway airport in the world. It got bumped to #2 this year for the first time in a while.
Impressive how efficient it is. Having perfect weather definitely helps with efficiency, delays are rare.
Hopefully the new T1 will fix some of that disdain! Also I think it is a much better airport if you live here. Being blissfully unaware of the rental car situation and the parking (i always just uber) is the best until someone that is visiting reminds me that it adds about 45mins-hour to the getting here and leaving part.
Southwest is great for what it is, no frills but also not a fully budget carrier like Frontier, Spirit, etc. nickel and diming you for bags and seats. It also isn’t trying to be a carrier with luxury options, they know their place in the market and they execute pretty well on it. Also their IFE app/website might be the best alongside United imo.
