like clockwork, this is the Pre-Check line. complete and utter dumpster fire
MIA sucks.
M.I.A. is one of the coolest people on the planet.
MIA is one of the worst airports on the planet.
Is Clear not an option here? I don’t fly in/out of MIA too often because its a hellscape
it is but even CLEAR gets semi jacked up because instead of having a completely separate screening area/line for PreCheck + CLEAR, they still have normal passengers mixed in and just give you a pass that al you hand to an agent once you get to the scanners. so you still get a slight benefit of time saved in a shorter line and no laptops out/shoes off, but you’re still stuck behind people that are doing that so it drags on forever
Ugh, T’s and P’s
First time flying back to EGE last week for Easter since the big renovation and may now be right up in the top of my small airports list.
4 Gates upstairs now with actual jetbridges (do kinda miss getting off an old 757 and walking in the cold to the terminal though) and 4 smaller walk out gates downstairs.
TSA now has multiple lanes with a dedicated precheck, and hands down the easiest baggage claim to rental car lot in the US…might have been 50 ft to our car.
And pleasantly surprised by Bar/restaurant options especially in pretty low season with just 1 DFW-EGE/EGE-DFW flight coming in daily and a few United Express DEN daily’s.
I will be checking out the new Delta terminal (3) at LAX Sunday. The airport is a disaster but a few weeks ago I actually had a pretty decent arrival into terminal 2 and walk to the uber lot. Was able to avoid the entire terminal U and get straight on the 405.
Tell me how to kill a few hours in Heathrow…
Plan was to arrive around 10:30 in the morning so we could have a little easier lean into the long day
Flights got consolidated and now we arrive at 5:45 in the morning. Trying to think about what we can do to kill a few hours before going into the city at say 9/10
Already work in the angle to see if we can get an Airbnb a little early, just to drop off our bags
Bring your clubs? Any reasonable pro shop will probably store your bags in the locker room while you play 18 in the morning.
Edit: if not, you can definitely waste 2 hours eating your way thru a full English breakfast.
Flying through BOS today on my way to DUB. First time here but probably won’t explore much. Flew into A18, depart A19 and pretty much spending the whole layover in the small Sky Club right next to A18.
Also, just got an alert that my flight is departing 10 minutes early. I’m pretty sure that is a first for me.
An alert that you’re departing early? That must mean some kind of operational decision. Maybe they need the gate ASAP. Quite often it’s related to destination airport conditions, though i can’t fathom that being the case for an overnight Transatlantic flight. Maybe the winds are calm tonight and flight time is much longer than planned.
Laid over in Miami on my way home from Nassau a couple days ago. Absolutely thrilled to be flying into Fort Lauderdale next week for the Grand Prix weekend.
Toughest of tough scenes for those that rep Delta and ATL. Won’t someone think of the bees?
Legitimately this is very bad. Bee extinction is something that scares me so much
Didn’t some airline also kill the worlds biggest rabbit a few years ago with some similarly apathetic maneuver?
Worse is that bees are very attracted to the warmth of jet engines. Multiple times swarms have developed around an engine while sitting at a gate.
First time flying since the pandemic next month for a work trip that focused more on leisure and having fun instead of actual work… EWR to PHX, had enough in cancelled flight credit from said Pandemic to upgrade to first class via United… first time in first, what can I expect outside of my 6’4 / 250 lb frame finally being comfortable on a nearly transcontinental flight?
Honestly, at this point it’s pretty much back to pre-pandemic flying….maybe the snacks are a bit worse.
