Tourist Sauce Season 8 - Scandinavia: The heartbeats were real!

Tourist Sauce Argentina sounds pretty interesting actually.

Is that a real pic? Looks so photoshopped :joy:

Do we know President Milei’s stance on golf? Now that they’re dollarizing will it be cheap or ridiculously expensive?

I would guess currently cheap but getting less so as there economy improves with a ā€œmore sound/stableā€ ( and I use those terms very loosely) currency.

As someone who left his appendix at a public hospital in Argentina I would definitely watch Tourist Sauce: A(rgentina) Factor.

I hope the boys like green olives and ham on their pizza.

People eat something other than beef in Argentina?

Extremely mediocre Italian food is far more prevalent than the often less than stellar beef.

Who is a bigger producer of high quality beef? The HCC or Argentina?

Hey there – I’m planning a similar trip and would welcome any advice you have from your experience!

I’m actually trying to recreate the entire Tourist Sauce Scandinavia season. As I’ve started planning, I’m running into unexpected roadblocks like needing to have a ā€œgolf licenseā€ to play in Sweden and trying to figure out how to obtain one from abroad.

Any tips would be much appreciated!

Hi— that sounds awesome!

To be clear I only played golf in Copenhagen, Denmark. I used public transit to get to the courses and either borrowed clubs or rented at the course.

I would highly recommend emailing the courses you want to play and just ask them your questions and try to book tee times like that. I’d imagine like Denmark most people in Sweden know a serviceable amount of English so don’t feel discouraged by the language barrier.

I never experienced needing a golf license, but one of the courses I played did have a handicap requirement to book a tee time.

I hope that helps!

Thanks so much! Great idea to email the courses for booking - I’ve already received a response from one (Visby) who say I can play as a guest without needing said golf license, and that I should be able to do the same at other courses.

Cheers!

Let’s gooooooo!

I just got back from Sweden, played Bro Hof and Visby. Didn’t need a ā€œgolf licenseā€ at either. Happy to answer any other questions you have. Can’t recommend Castle Course at Bro Hof enough.

I see that You are trying to replicate TS, but atleast check Ullna out if u can. Bro Hof is an experience obviously haha but Ullna is so fun to play, more equal to Visby I would say.
Having played most of the top 50 in Sweden its definitely one of the most fun to play courses around here

@djpie @Randy @Tron any contact with Lennart and Karin at Falsterbo? They lived at the lighthouse for 40ish years and were the last humans to log manual weather observations for Sweden.

Don’t know them but just saw this sweet mini-doc by Patagonia. Would seem to be the perfect interesting locals to meet.
