Tourist Sauce Season 8 - Scandinavia: The heartbeats were real!

Stokholm GK, Visby, and the one they played before Great Northern looked fun. I could probably skip the rest other than the spa at Great Northern.

That’s my feeling. I kind of tuned out on the pillow fight match. The musical score was interesting. Other than that I sort of lost interest in this episode.

I had heard of Falsterbo but didn’t know much about it. I felt like there were a lot of ground level shots that left everything looking the same. I could have used some more drone shots of holes prior to being played to help see what DJ and Randy were facing.

I call that ā€œthe Atlantic Dunes situationā€.

My wife walked in while I was watching and asked what was going on. My answer was that a) this was the most relatable golf I’d seen on Tourist Sauce, b) it was easily the WORST golf I’d ever seen on Tourist Sauce and c) I wasn’t sure whether my enjoyment was sadistic or not.

Nothing has ever spoken to my soul quite like DJ’s soliloquy about all the things he was thinking about standing over the ball, followed by a bad swing, followed by walking away saying, ā€œGod, I’m uncomfortable.ā€

What a match! I don’t care that it wasn’t perfect golf - both of them were playing at the same level. Some of the most interesting and competitive golf I’ve seen on TV in months.

Also, kudos to DJ and @justine for the score - wow! So much tension building up to the end. It felt like a suspense murder thriller - not a golf match. Loved it.

As others have said - best soundtrack of any TS ever (maybe hyperbole but I can’t think of another that tops it).

Awesome work @justine @djpie

I’ve been there, too. We all have. I really admire @djpie’s attitude during this season — when I get that kind of lost with my swing, I get MUCH moodier than DJ seems to be. That’s fucking admirable, man. Seriously.

With how long they stayed on Big Randy’s second shot on 18, I was only 99% sure it was ending in a shank.

Haha, I could see how it comes across that way, but I don’t think that was the case. There was not a lot of glowing words after playing Bro Hof, which I’m sure came through in the episode, but SGK, Visby, Great Northern were all truly awesome. And Falsterbo was really fun, just not for an elimination match. It was so freaking firm and fast that you really had to play ā€œnot to loseā€ instead of ā€œto winā€ because neither of us were good enough to hit the proper shot most of the time. It was kind of like playing Pinehurst No. 2, honestly. But if you could do that in a non-stressful situation, it’d be a blast.

4 months later I am more in love with the claw than ever. It has singlehandedly reinvigorated my love of golf.

It’s an @ANTIFAldo special!

But that’s not as much fun for my narrative…

Kinda off topic, but are there outtakes from other seasons or series? And if so, where are they located? I didn’t happen to see anything on YT. Thanks!

Interesting to hear. I’ve got the yips as well and am rocking cross-handed for the moment.

I gotta try this, or LHL, or really anything else. My putting has become absolutely atrocious. :grimacing:

My putting has been atrocious my whole life. Unfortunately, it’s not really my stroke so much as it is my awful green-reading ability (or lack thereof).

Honestly, same, but I am trying to convince myself that a grip change might help.

A friend was telling me about another one of his friends who has the worst yips he has ever seen. Like…literally you can not give the guy a six inch putt.

One day they decided to take some mushrooms and go play golf. My friend said the man with the tips had the most beautiful flowing stroke you had ever seen and that he made everything in sight.
