Tourist Sauce Season 8 - Scandinavia: The heartbeats were real!

Funny, I was just thinking the same exact thing. It is just a pleasure to watch. Makes me want to travel internationally immediately.

While this certainly helps, I’ve never been to California, Oregon, or Michigan either. And while I’ve spent extensive time in the Carolinas, I liked seeing them go to places I’ve been/go to regularly. Some of what they did show was amazing and made me want to go there. But I also was left wanting more. I guess that’s not really a bad thing from their point of view.

For the record, this isn’t a complaint. Just my preference. I still watched and enjoyed all of the seasons, but some are less re-watchable to me.

That is certainly true and something I hadn’t really thought about. I personally liked the Scotland competition where it was there, but not really a focus. Gave reason to play reasonably hard, but wasn’t live or die on each stroke. But then again, watching Soly and DJ battle to the end in Oregon was pretty sweet. I guess when the focus is on a match, I find I’m missing the banter of the others.

I don’t know why DJ can’t just make 2-3 hour episodes and include everything all of us like!

hahahaha…oh no.

Starting tomorrow, @sundaybag and I will be starting a new video podcast to answer these questions. Our first guest will be @djpie to get the scoop on the Ep1 edit, why he choose the style he did, and what to expect for the rest of the season.

Overview: The Cut, A No Laying Up Show is a weekly(ish) wrap up show Hosted by Cody and Ben. The Cut follows No Laying Up’s weekly content lineup, providing a behind-the-scenes analysis of that week’s shows, happenings within the No Laying Up universe, and fun tidbits about working with the NLU5. The show will focus on Cody and Ben’s point of view of No Laying Up’s content offerings as well as other golf news and notes. The show will feature NLU5 appearances, viewer call-ins and much more.

The show is a live video podcast utilizing Riverside.fm Friday’s at 1pm ET, Noon CT. Nest members can access the studio with The Refuge provided link (I will get it out tomorrow AM). Riverside.fm provides the Hosts the ability to bring studio audience members into the live show to ask questions and provide feedback. Once the live show is complete, we will publish The Cut over on the YT Channel.

BL: There is a ton of meat and insight that never makes it into each episode. This is our chance to tell some of those stories, poke fun at our bosses, and get the Nest involved in a true call in fashion. Let’s go

I hope this doesn’t take away from @sundaybag making a TS outtakes video again

I’d love to chat all things Outtakes and why it hasn’t happened yet for TS: Oregon during The Cut show.

Wasn’t there one for Oregon? Do you mean Michigan?

Yes, Michigan. Still working on Michigan.

This sounds awesome, I was thinking of pitching the idea of re-releasing episodes with a ā€œDirector’s commentaryā€ for Nest members, kind of like you’d get on DVD, but this seems like it will fit that idea nicely as well

How am I going to flex on GHIN to all the members at my club if I don’t post all my scores from exotic courses…or god forbid, even a shit hole like Bandon.

You overspend in the pro shop and flex with logo bingo of course.

Frank. When I was battling the shanks in a 30mph rainy downpour on the Jubilee Course I was fully embracing your take.

Maybe it’s LCP or maybe it’s just attitude but I’ve been fortunate to play some pretty cool places in my golf journeys and honestly I couldn’t tell you what I shot at most ā€˜name’ places. I used to let my score dictate how I felt about my round and it honestly ruined some pretty special courses so I’ve worked pretty hard on separating the quality of the golf from the quality of the experience. To each their own I suppose but whenever someone tells me they played somewhere awesome I never think to ask them what they shot.

Missed the live premiere and tried to watch it tonight, hit with tons of YouTube ads and gave up. Any options for providing an ad free stream option for nest members?

Asking about scores is dumb. So is bragging about them. But counting your shots when you’re playing golf doesn’t seem that dumb.

Counting shots while playing =/= remembering what you shot at a given course on a given day, at least for me. But yes, there are also some rounds where I just don’t keep a close eye on the actual score, still seem to find a way to enjoy the round :man_shrugging:

When I play good I remember my score.

When I play bad I have no recollection. Seem to lose those cards.

I had that problem a lot as well RE: letting the score ruin my round. But I seem to have moved passed it by not adding up my score mid round and just soaking in the experience in other ways. That way I’ll know at the end what I shot (if nothing else just for myself) and still get to enjoy the course for what it is.

But I can say, leaving a course not knowing what I shot sounds like a certain version of hell to me. Maybe it’s just the competition growing up that has made it impossible to just not keep score.

It’s not up to them. YouTube determines if any of the music is licensed and if so they drop in ads. I know the guys have pushed back when they’ve paid for the license for a given song but otherwise I don’t think it’s in their control.
